Saw this on my recommended...Not sure if it was mentioned here already, but someone traded their 19 GT2 decked out with carbon fiber with less than 5,000 miles in the Tampa FL. area. List price ~41K doesn't seem too bad imo.

A little shocking to me that someone put that amount of $$$ and love(?) into something only to (presumably) trade in so soon for a BMW M4 as commented by the uploader. Of course you got to do what feels right and I hope they are happy with their decision.

Would be worth a bit more without all that CF junk on it.

Whoever sold that car to the dealer must have taken a beating on it. Resell values are really bad for sedans like this right now.

I looked at an X5M--but then bought my Stinger.I wanted AWD and even a 2018 X5M was over 60k.The M cars were nice but even the M4 was over 70k and that was RWD only.Warranty was half the stingers--oil changes were more.I am not a badge whore--I go for best bang for the buck--nothing was close to the stinger as far as price and performance. Also the 2020 AWD stingers run the quarter in the same time as an M4--for 1200 dollars you can get a tune--while keeping the warranty which gives the stinger 65 to 90h and puts it in the higher end M car range on performance. To each his own.I could see an x5 x6 M or m6 m8--but a RWD M4 and he probably had to lay down another 30k plus--not worth it.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I saw that video too, Raiti’s rides has a lot of great reviews. By internet price the carbon fiber hood, front vents, front upper/lower grille, mirrors, side skirts, rear deck lid, rear diffuser are about $5k in carbon fiber....WOW. When I first clicked the video I was expecting a modified stinger with intakes/exhaust/tune but I realized the owner (most likely) put it back to stock to sell it.

Accessories don't add value to a vehicle. If anything, they reduce it, because the OEM parts are gone and it indicates the vehicle has been messed with by someone who may or may not know what they are doing.

In general, if you've molested a vehicle like that, you're better off restoring it to stock, and trying to sell the parts separately.

Thanks captain

wow, the previous owner would have been much better off putting the stock parts back on and selling all that carbon. This is why I can't bring myself to sell any of my stock parts. Looks amazing, but on a trade, it probably added little to no value.

I agree, my 19 GT1 just hit 5,000 & it’s 1 year anniversary! She was in storage all winter. Any added personal touches will always devalue a vehicle regardless of how “cool” the upgrade! I my self have added some subtle enhancements but I have done so only because I have a tendency to keep & care for the cars I purchase! I don’t buy cars upgrade then trade them in after 5,000

My $0.02: I drove this brand new M2 Competition on Saturday and this car's performance is head and shoulders above the Stinger....except for the interior. The owner bought the car through Costco auto program, saved about $15k, with 0% finance. Final price was about $55k. Bottom line: You get what you pay for.

no comparison to be made between the M2 Comp and the Stinger. They are in completely different classes and have different purposes. Stinger is a larger, 4 door grand touring car designed for comfort, practicality, and performance. M2 is a small sports coupe, designed purely for performance. I will say though, I am a huge fan of the M2 and I definitely want one. Maybe some day. Not bad at $55k. Not bad at all.

The 2 Series is basically 1.5 size segments smaller and the M2 is the performance variant.

Mind as well compare the M2 to the 440 GC and will come to the same conclusion.

This is what happens when someone buys cars only looking at monthly payments and never saves cash. Maybe couldn't afford 800 bucks a month for the m4 9 months ago or whatever and bought a stinger. Then a dealer tricks them into a nice new loan after trade in that gets them the M4 for 600 a month. Never mind the lost cash all around or being on the hook for a 70 month loan lol.

I would never get a payment on a car--especially a BMW that will start having expensive repairs before the loan is paid.I traded my 10 year old car and paid 19k out the door and have a brand new stinger GT AWD.Just got the title yesterday.I set a limit on 50k because I can buy one outright--and like the stinger--I make smart choices.I was even at 23k and got them to knock 4 more k off when they found out I would outright buy.Because of this I have over 20k in the bank--can afford premium gas and taking the stinger to the dealer--and can lightly mod the car and have no headaches.I was able to retire just recently in my 40s because of making smart choices and saving and paying for things outright.I have a modern--AWD comfortable car that can hit 167 mph--and I own it.I would not be able to sleep at night if I had a car payment.Look at what covid has done--so many folks losing cars or turning them in.One famous you tuber lost like a lawyer job and had payments on the Shelby mustang--and had to auction it off and used you tube to do it.An M4--and this is my opinion and I have driven M cars and even considered an X5M--used of course--is not a substantially better or faster car then a stinger. It is a small slightly faster combo of light track car/ fastback--also it is RWD--which is outdated on modern cars.AWD is the way to go now and well worth the price.

I had a 650 Cabriolet MSport , it was comparable to the Stinger in size and general performance , TOURING car not a SPORTS car

Congrats on the early retirement! that's a life goal for me. I do have a payment on my stinger, and it doesn't bother me much, but it is my first new car. First car that costs more than $4k actually. I plan to pay it off, then keep it long term (10 years or so), and never finance a car again as long as my finances allow. Like you, I'm smart with money, so I definitely think it is all achievable
