32,500 miles and all OEM 4 tires it came with are worn out almost exactly the same on the inside corner of each. The other 85% of the contact patches still look pretty good. Never curbed the tires and there are virtually no potholes in Florida and the car was serviced by the dealer only and never had an alignment although the tires were rotated at least twice.

Is there an issue with the stock alignment on these ?

Is 32,500 miles about all the stock tires are good for ?

What's a good value long wearing smooth quiet replacement that won't break the bank ? (Don't care about high performance driving as this is the wife's grocery getter.

TIA

Which oem tires?

Should be rotating tires 5-6K mile intervals. Alignment probably bad from the get go. Did you verify tire rotation was actually performed?

Is the premium the 4 cyl model or 6?

Bridgestone Potenza 02...

We drive like people in our 60's...

55K miles treadlife on that tire. And you are shot at c. 32.5K. :( The front camber is non-adjustable, but the rear camber can be adjusted. Your driving needs say get the same tire or equivalent again, after doing an alignment and camber adjustment in the rear. Maybe you can get the price of new Bridgestone knocked off for missing the stated treadlife by so much?

Re97as-02 ?

@Merlin thanks for clarifying which end is has adjustable camber. Can never keep track of it. Sounds just like the G, only toe adjustable in front, but toe and camber in rear.

Also, they won't make any warranty claims if tires have uneven wear.

Just saying 32,500 miles down under is unheard of for tyre wear. We do kilometres here and if you get 30+ you've done well.

Camber would have to be extreme to cause that sort of wear. Much more common for toe to be the culprit.

Most common cause of uneven wear or noise is infrequent rotation. The maintenance schedule suggests 6K if I remember correctly. I do 3K.

I usually see the uneven wear on the outside lugs from no or infrequent rotations.

Make sure to get an alignment at a good shop, and ask for the before and after results.

Alignments are cheap compared to replacing tires.

No tire rotation on the CDN GT Limited. They are not the same size.

And when you get aftermarket wheels that are true directional, you don't even swap side-to-side anymore either. :P

You switch sides with staggered. It makes a difference. The lugs will develop a serrated wear pattern and get noisy.

Frustrated here too. My Stinger just failed inspection for safety due to to the tires. Same exact thing...2018 Premium. All 4 tires are worn BADLY (you can see the cords) on the inner 1/2 to 1-inch of the tires. I rotate every 3 to 5K miles. I have 34K miles on these tires. Seems that Kia did not set these cars aligned properly from the start. Going to see if dealer will do anything.

I wound up putting a set of Uniroyals on... 65k mile tire. $800 even OTD at Tire Kingdom. The car never seemed to track all that well from the day we got it new. The alignment was out and now with the new tires it rides and tracks much better.

Tiger Paw Touring AS DT

^^Is that the stock size on your car? Is it the 4 or 6 cyl? Not a big fan of that size, seems light weight for the car. Note the 95 load index. A bit light for a nearly 2 ton car.

It's the Premium so it's a 4 cylinder. Each tire rated for 1,521 lbs...

Yes, been looking at that exact tire too. Yes, that is the same size for the Premium, came 95 for load rating on the Bridgestones. I may go with a generic tire, V-rated, to save money. I used to sell tires and I know that many of the generics are made by the same large brand name companies to the same quality. Just the name is different.

Still thinking about going to dealer to put in a case with corporate. Was clearly not aligned properly right from the start.

I never liked the way the car tracked on the highway from new but after about 1,500 miles now with the alignment and new tires it's much much better. Not perfect imo but better now. To me nothing feels sporty about the steering on the Premium 4cyl Stinger.

Almost the same car here, I have no complaints about the michelin PS AS4's. I've yet to corner hard/fast enough to hear 'em squeal, and I do corner quite fast. Tracking is straight at hwy speeds. After a year they're wearing well (5500mi).

In the sizes listed above, it was around $800 iirc. Might be less with a rebate.
