2018 Stinger owners contemplating a 2019 Stinger trade/purchase...

the only thing that really bugs me about the new 2019s is the standard LSD. I also opted to get the GT1 without drivewise to save a bit of money, well now all the GTs have drivewise standard :/

I believe LSD was standard on the 2018 GT2. :thumbdown:

I did the trade 2 weeks ago, base 2018 GT & into a base 2019 GT. Very noticeable difference in the LSD equipped model with NO trunk rattle either (so far). 66 months term which was the same as my 2018 and kept the same payment w $0 down.

TY, & my 2018 had almost 15k on it too so the rear tires needed changing. Making the switch saved an additional expense.
 
I also traded a 2016 Optima SLX for my Stinger. I didn't think it was a big deal that the Stinger doesn't have a few things that the Optima had but turns out I do miss them, particularly the 360 camera and wireless charger. I know I can retro the charger but it still nags at me a little that I didn't get the 2019 instead and just all the features I wanted.
I feel ya on the 360 camera. That's really about the only thing holding me back from trading my 2017 Optima SXL. I use that thing just about everytime I park, even in nose-in parking, as it's great for getting perfectly in between the lines. Lol.

I know I can get it on a GT2, but I don't want the 19's and summer rubber, and the turbo 4 is enough for me these days. Not to mention the price difference. If I could get one for 40k like some of you did I'd go for it, but that deal is long gone.

I'm in no huge hurry, so maybe if they put the 360 cam on the 2020 2.0 Premium I'll get one then. That'll give me a year to pay down the negative equity on my lease, too. But that sure is a long ways away ...

Depending on when you initiated your lease, you may not even have negative equity. I just traded my 2018 GT2 in for my 2019 GT2 and actually had $1000 in positive equity (got $39k for trade). I had only put $1000 down when I initiated my lease but with the substantial lease cash they were offering at the time (February), I was able to stay above water. Trouble is, the longer you go into your lease, the more negative equity cause of the money factor. Just some food for thought.
 
I’m going to go look at a 19 tomorrow. I’d be trading my ceramic silver gt2 AWD for the exact same car. My 18 was a lease buyout and I have no loan so I own it. I was thinking of doing it to take the 0.9 interest, financing the value of the car, and paying off some upcoming debt with the trade equity. But mainly I am not happy with my car after getting collision damage repaired.

I was going to offer to do the deal for a $10k difference between the 18 trade and new 19 (so like 42 on trade and 52 on new or however they want to write it up since taxes in NE is on the 10k difference) but I doubt they’ll be anywhere close to that. But it doesn’t hurt to ask. I’m curious if anyone thinks that number is crazy one way or the other.

Am lucky us Canadian 2018 Stingers are basically 2019.

Can you tell me how is the ride quality between the 2018 and the 2019? Is there any difference in terms of road, tire and wind noise? is the 2019 more solid like to drive? congrants and thank you!
