PS: I don't know why everyone thinks they need AWD based on it snows or not when it's not "slip and grip" AWD.

Probably because "purists" feel RWD is more enjoyable to drive. I almost went that path myself, until I realized the two AWD sports cars I've owned were an absolute joy compared to RWD, and both the LP560-4 and R8 I've driven on a race track were as well....

I can tell you that it's not really necessary on most roads. I used snow tires on my RWD 535 M-Sport and survived 2 of the major storms we had in the DC Metro area during my time with it. I was actually drove out in one to take folks to the airport and made it out and back in 6 - 12 inches of snow with no issue. The tires were so good folks thought the car was an AWD version. When the Stinger came out, my plan was to go RWD and I might still do so however, the discount, MF and lease cash on the AWD makes it quite enticing. We will see what I finally end up with once I make a deal.

Better plan: Wait till winter, drive to a Kia dealer in a really snowy area, and say you want their RWD version. They'll throw discounts at you and beg you to take it because it's been sitting on their lot undriveable for 5 months. Got mine that way. Haha.

My point was AWD is not just snow necessity only. Some types of AWD are for performance as well ex. Acura SH-AWD. I do really think with Stinger, AWD is about performance as well. Sometimes the car has too much power that they can handle and AWD makes sense then as well. The new M5 went AWD for the same reason. Subaru WRX does have AWD for performance reasons (symmetrical AWD with brake-based torque vectoring). Change in temperature or surface can make a big difference in launching if we lose traction.

Stinger is a GT car and has soft suspension and gets tail happy a lot in corners. AWD adds brake-based torque vectoring too. To me it does makes sense to get AWD for performance reasons even where it doesn't snow for sure footing.
