2018 GT2 Good Deal?

I think I MIGHT have a dealer "on the ropes" for a red 2018 GT2 AWD w/ remote start right now... what should I shoot for OTD right now?

For a 2018 GY2 you should be at $35,000 to $36,000 but bottom line out the door no more than $38,000.

Sorry, I've been away for awhile...here are real numbers on a 2019 mica blue GT2 Stinger AWD with remote start, window tint, pin stripping, trunk mat, wheel locks, cargo net, paint protection.

This was as of 2 weeks ago, my wife was in the hospital however and had emergency surgery. During this time, well about 4 days ago, the GM called me and asked if I could come in because deals have change to my benefit and he could do 'Significantly' better and just got ahold of my deal. He said he wished it came across his desk when I called because he know about the problems I had with my 2018 GT2, and wants to make it right.
Haven't gone in as I am playing catch up on my wife's last hospital stay for a heart attack and operation of stent placement, also prescription costs are crazy. Now she is home recovering from emergency surgery from internal bleeding which was made worse by the blood thinners (brilinta) that she is on for her stent. 6 weeks down time. Home now and recovering very well. But even with good insurance, Blur cross/blue shield, Bill's are crazy

What GM were you cross shopping? Hopefully your wife gets well soon.

I did not go cross shopping. I went back to the original dealership that gave me what I thought was an awesome deal on my 18 GT2 at $38k o.t.d. with window tint, pin striping, wheel locks, cargo tray, and net, paint protection with pieces of 3m clear shield in the important places, free life time oil changes.
He was straight up with me, and that goes a long way with my loyalty when someone just wants to move a unit and cuts through the BS.
Not gonna put him on blast on this forum without his permission. I'll call him and see if he will allow me to give at least his dealers info on forums.

They're at $40K OTD for a new 2018 red GT2 AWD with remote start and 19" wheels and an extra $1000 more than my trade is worth... good deal right?

It depends...its a numbers game now. All they are doing is moving numbers from one column to another. If they are truly giving you $1000 extra for your car (1000 more than its actual cash value) than I would say you're ok.
I like to separate the deals. Work them separately, then combine them. You should be somewhere around $38500 o.t.d. with the added remote start. The plain and simple truth is NO Kia dealer wants these left over units on their lots this far into 2019. Heck you can go to a dealer that doesnt have one, they will get one for you through dealer trade. Any options, color you want dur to there being so many. Then they will sing you praises as they sell it to you because they are getting holdbacks from the auto manufacture KIA after the sale because they moved a 2 year old unit.

Now take that $38500 o.t.d. price and if you have any positive equity in your trade, subtract it from the price. Plus refigure taxes, they will be a bit cheaper due to not paying taxes on trade in values dollar worth.

Quick story, I just bought a used Harley private party for a good deal $5500, then titled and registered it for $400. So I got $5900 into it, but didnt like it. Went to a dealer and traded it in only after working numbers on a brand new left over Honda Valkyrie. It's a $17999 motorcycle plus $888 for freight and prep, $800 delivery fee, and $699 dealer fee. Plus taxes, title, and registration.
I got them down to $9570 on the brand new but couple year left over bike, and I got $6500 for my trade. Now I'm ahead 1000 on trade, ahead $460 on taxes due to trade, and they discounted bike over $8000 just to get it out of their warehouse. Honda is paying the dealer handsomely after the sale for selling this unit. It turns out they produced too many and they didnt sell at the MSRP and didnt sell as expected. Happens all the time.

Yes like cj1 said if there is no hidden numbers that is a very good deal I bot 9k off on my lease, as long as they are not trying to charge you $1,800 for window tinting and nitrogen in your tires seems a good deal to me.
