So my wife is very modest and HATES the attention the Stinger gets when we take it out. On Tuesday we were on our way to her folks place for dinner. We were just cruisin, around 70, in the center lane listening to tunes (Zepplin, Fool in the Rain I believe) when I notice a lowered, black 335i flying up to us on the left side. He slowed down considerably when he got to our rear quarter and slowly inched even with us. I thought sigh...great...douchey Bimmer guy wants to race. My wife even said "Baaaaabe don't do ittttt lol" To our surprise, his passanger (2 younger guys, 20 or so)rolled down the window, nodded his head, gave us a big thumbs up and said "NICCCCE"! and then took off. Wife rolls her eyes lol

Two minutes later, we exit the highway and stop at the first light. An older couple in a white SUV pulls up to our right side. Window comes down and I hear "Excuse me, what kinda car is that??" It's a Kia Stinger I reply. "That isssssss SHARP! A KIA REALLLLY??" My wife replies Yup...who knew right?! lol. Guy laughs, waves and turns right. All around Vintage K re-badge triggers a lot of this

We pull into the liquor store parking lot to grab some beers for the party. Two guys are standing outside smoking as we're walking in. "Sweet car!" one guy says. I thank him and we walk inside. My wife shakes her head and laughs. "That's crazy" she says. "3 times in 10 minutes...Really?!?! I'm NEVERRRR driving that car" I smiled and said "No problem babe...I wont force you to drive it" while inside I'm thinking PERFECT LOL!

Your probably right lol but after 5 months ownership it's still a near daily occurrence! I'm sure we all experience this. This car triggers strong reactions in people and it's always positive. I'm sure there's people that don't appreciate it but they just keep quiet. I truly enjoy the interactions and talking with people about the car. My wife would rather drive her SUV and go from A to B unfettered. Win Win in my book:)

It’s a well designed car plus I’ve never seen a single commercial on tv in the states for the stinger. It’s pretty low key till someone finally sees it in person.

Explain to her that someone complimenting your car is like another woman complimenting her on her dress/outfit.. Women dress for other women, men buy cars to impress other men..

I don't really care for the attention and questions the Stinger triggers, I'm a bit low key for that. The car still does get a fair bit of attention. The last one I did receive while on the road and not in a parking lot was probably initialized because I decided to juice it off the lights just because. It's not slow...lol.

Out here in California. No one seems to care. In one year of ownership, I can count the amount of people asking me about my car in one hand. Everyone here is so tunnel vision on the road

Certainly has a lot to do where you live and the type of people in that area. Where I live I like my car is subtle/almost sleeper like. I catch people throwing glimpses or pulling up to me at lights and looking/inspecting, but have way more out of confusion about what this thing is.

Real fun since it acts more like a sleeper here in the midwest compared to the Mustangs, Cameros, or Challengers that are known to be fast since all we've really got are straight roads. Real fun to keep pace with them but still show respect after with a thumbs up or casual chat at the next light. Even at Cars and Coffee, everyone that stumbled on it was confused. Checking it out from all angles. Rear/Front/Inside/Underside (LOL the one guy that laid on the ground at cars and coffee to see what was underneath).

Anywho, our cars are special. Nothing like it on the road unless it's much more expensive.

It is a daily thing with me too. The other day it was "is that an Alfa Romeo"? When he found out it was a Kia he went all Forrest Whitaker on me.

Can't say anyone has actually commented to me in person about the car in my six months of ownership. But you can be driving down the road and a car suddenly comes charging up beside you and starts driving level with you. I think they are having a look at the car, either wondering what it is or admiring it i suppose. It is weird sometimes.

Some say the Stinger is the poor man's Porsche. My feeling is that it is the SMART man's Stinger! Simply a great car.

It's rude to point!

I wish I could lip read.

In Houston, I get asked about my car ALL the time. When driving on the highway, I can see guys in their soccer mom SUV's and jacked out trucks checking out my car and staring at it in what I can only assume is wonder. I've had guys at the gym stop me and talk about it, had a guy at the grocery store ask me about it.

One time, I was stopped at a red light minding my own business. My lane has 3 cars in it. Next lane is wide open. Out of the corner of my eye I see a car stop next to me in said lane. I look over, and it's a guy in a porsche with his window down yelling at me "I LOVE YOUR CAR!!!"

My wife just rolls her eyes at me every time I tell her this stuff. One of the times I texted her about it. Her response "You're going to get so much dick with this car." :cautious:

Yeah, I married up.
