So I did my 1st logs yesterday with my recently installed jb4. Map 1, mix of 91 and 94 octane. All bolt on, spark plugs at .025. as you can see in the first logs my timing looked horrible. I thought it could be plugs or gas.. So today I disconnected my battery, put 3 gallons of E80 in and ran map 1, looked perfect as far as I know, so I ran map 2, again looked great based on my newbie learning curve. Pretty much no timing corrections. I'm looking for a little verification on this as I'd like to run map 3 as well.. from what I can tell all I had to do was reset the ECU, maybe old timing trends?? So how are my new logs looking?? Thanks gentleman. First 2 were yesterday with shitty timing etc. Next 2 were today after reset and 3 gallons of E80

@Terry@BMS . All look good.. explanation for the bad logs at first?

if you want to go map 3, try the 94 octane with e85 mix to e30 and see how it does. if you have access to 94, just run that all the time on map 2 or 3, add e85 if timing looks a little off on map 3. Timing does look good on map 2.

edit: try saving the log as a .csv file for easier viewing.

I generally only look at CSV files in the JB4 software, so can't do much with photos of logs that only have a fraction of the data I'd want to see. But generally speaking if timing corrections are lower then you're fine. Canadian 94 octane is often worse than 91 so maybe got a bad tank.. Who really knows. Map1 is the minimum JB4 map and it's suitable for all 91+ fuels, even if you have timing drops.

Thanks for the response , I'm still learning the whole forum thing. Can I directly email you the csv logs?. Several runs now and I have basically zero timing pulls, and everything else looks good in my uneducated as of now, opinion. I'm in Minnesota so have access to 93, 94 ,97, and 101 octane.. plus E85. In thinking it was just a ECU reset. Is that a normal thing after first installing the jb4??

Trying again

Here's a bad run from the day before I disconnected the battery and added 3 gallons of E80. Improvements are quite noticeable. This was only map 1 as well. So I'll continue to learn and play around with the 94 octane and or E30 mix and jump to map 3 u less I'm missing something you see @Terry@BMS ? Great product BTW, matches up beautifully with the other bolt on mods and really brings this car to life.

Any other experts chime in on these logs? Wanna make sure I'm not missing anything

Yes you can always email me if you want me to check them out. I don't check the forums as often lately, been swamped with development work. terry@burgertuning.com

Needing an ECU adaptions reset isn't common but usually the first thing to try if timing corrections don't match the expectations for the boost/octane being used.

Thanks Terry, I'll try map 3 with some 94 and see how the logs look since these are looking nice. Where could I find your email?
