My ride quality has been noticably degrading over the last few years. I've gotten to the point that I need to use my Mando ECS control set to 90 to prevent rubbing my fenders. 100+k miles I would assume my shock absorbers have done their job and need replacement.

Anyone want to chime in before I bite the 2k dollar bill and make my purchase? I enjoy having control over my suspension dampening with my Mando unit.

Let me hear your thoughts.Screenshot_20251102-140943.Chrome.webpScreenshot_20251102-140930.Chrome.webp

At c. 80K miles, I have been thinking about this for the last little while. One of our forum members has well over 200K miles and has replaced his shocks and struts twice, at 80K and again at 160K, as I recall him describing earlier this year - he said that to his standards that is just expected maintenance. I have no intention of replacing my shocks much less my struts anytime soon. The ride isn't brand new quality, vis-à-vis NVH, but I am not going to subjectively fool myself here. When the NVH gets to the point of not taking actual road irregularities - bad roads - to produce continuous noises, and the ride isn't "performance" enough, I'll know it's time to pay to get the suspension "new" again.

I won't be having KIA do any of this either.

Be ready to spend 7K+ on new shocks if you want to keep the OEM electronic ones. They are about 2K a piece.

:-(

What are you talking about? They are around $6-700 for gt1 or gt2, and $200 for gt trim.

Indeed, at this moment, dealer pricing is hovering around $600 per corner for ECS shocks. Looks like the 18-21 front left is discontinued so that might not actually be available.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

Oh damn!! That is CHEAP compared to what I last saw a few months ago. When I looked them up it was 2K per ECS.

Happen to have a link that I could grab from ya? Would love to confirm and maybe even buy them now just incase they go out of stock at some point. (plan on keeping this car for another 100K)

The Kia parts catalog is .... semi-garbage. Not the worst OEM I've seen, but pretty terrible. Very difficult to tell what's compatible with trim levels and part revisions.
Just find some dealer's site, try to get the right part number, then use google with the part number to price shop. From what I can tell all the Kia parts sites use the same back end data which isn't the case for all brands.

Tasca is a pretty good starting point in general for the brands they carry, which are a bunch. Their prices are usually very competitive too. The only time I've done local dealer is Subaru because Subaru parts pricing seems very controlled, so it's always a wash after shipping. Different brands treat their parts distributors differently though.
