Kia Richmond quoted me those rates. I haven't yet looked for a third party to do the work. I'm just now at 6000km and will need that 1st service soon. Kia Richmond service advisor was adamant that their oil change prices were in-line with what other places were charging, especially when getting into the synthetic oil.Which dealership quoted you on those rates? Since I'm local to the Metro Vancouver area, I'd be interested if you did look for a third-party, and what they charge. I'm coming up to my first service in another month or so with approximately ~5000 km under the belt so far.
The one thing that makes me hesitate about taking my Stinger to a third party oil change place, is the competency of the employees. Those place can be revolving doors with employees coming and going. At least with the dealership, I have a certain level of certainty that the employees know what they are doing. Plus, Kia Richmond said they have only serviced 1 Stinger so far, so I doubt that a third-party oil change place has even looked under the hood of the Stinger. I think I'll leave the servicing to the dealership for now.
If you find a place that works for you and is reasonable priced, drop me a line and let me know who you are using. I'll do likewise.
