0-60 time (no mods allowed)

You’re trying so hard to be relevant. You want the stinger to be a single purpose vehicle because you’ve read it’s a ‘GT’.... we see that. Then let it be a by the book GT if that satisfies you. To me it’s just a part time modified 1320 track car that my wife drives daily (winter excluded). You are not an individual who’s going to ‘teach’ me about automobiles, your far too small minded at this point in your life to grasp the idea that a car (like the stinger) can be a track car, touring car, mod car, what ever the owner wants it to be, and that’s what it is...lord it’s still just a Audi econo knockoff lol
Canada is a free country too. You can think and say what you want.
But......A GT car is what a GT car is. It is not a matter of opinion like you suggest. Kia engineered the Stinger to be a GT car and put a GT badge on it. Use and think of your Stinger how you choose. It's your "Audi econo knockoff " as you call it.
My wife sometimes calls me small minded like you have called me . I'm guessing your wife refers to you as ignorant quite often.
Be nice and have a good day!

No my wife doesn’t actually.... so the gt500 then is a gt? Ford gt is a gt?No? Mustang gt? Ferrari gt, literally dozens of cars host the gt tag... aren’t they all then gt’s? It says they are, then it must be so. Your so determined to be right, but you can’t.

This Canadian Thing is big for you? Is it because you paid 30% more for your stinger in the US than I did here in beautiful Canada?

save yourself, I’m relentless, and most often right. As for Audi knockoff....it is down right an eco clone of Audi, Audi engineers were brought in with bmw folks as well, result, economic Audi. Telluride is a Land Rover copy, and the optima, Ford Fusion... tell me you knew this right ?

Likely, I know ford dropped an eco-boost engine in everything and called it a gt. So we know if you say it’s a GT then op demands it be referred to as a GT or else he gets quite angry ( hates Canadians)

Speaking of GTs...

I wonder how op feels about GMC's Yukon GT. Thread relevant: It's 0-60 is 10.1 seconds.

Since you're ignorant to what a GT automobile is I'm going to school you. By the way, we're all ignorant. So quiet down and listen intently. A GT = Grand Tourer or Grand Turismo (Italian if you don't know) A type of sports car designed for high speed and long distance driving, due to a combination of performance and luxury attributes. Those words did not come from me. Look it up.
There...…..you've been schooled!!!
So then contrary to your earlier comment above (35) where you said “you can call any car a GT if you want” was just I guess you flapping for the sake of flapping. Because from this latest post you seem to understand a GT is “A type of sports car designed for high speed and long distance driving”. A far cry from any ole car is a GTo_O. I always find it interesting when people flap just for the sake of argument. This is a great attribute if you are a politician, however it’s a fairly useless trait in common society and will tend to make one look like an idiot quite quickly. I guess for you school types this might just be a little to “old school” for ya:geek:

I bet I could have gotten mid 9’s on that with an intake and some heat shields. I’m sorry that was just for fun, didn’t mean to offend.

I said you could put a GT badge on any car you choose. The GT badge doe not make it a GT as a GT is defined. You can slap an AWD badge on a 2WD, that doesn't make it a AWD
Is an Elantra GT a GT car too?

Sorry you seem to be a little to far out there for me to continue reading your gibberish. Am sure like many others I’ll have to ignore you now. Bye-bye and good luck with your future comments I’m sure they will be falling on deaf ears:laugh::laugh:

What is the matter with you Sir??? You can label a person place or thing anything you choose!!! But, that chosen label may not be accurate, correct or proper!!! Again....You can slap a GT badge on any car you want. That DOES NOT make it a GT car as GT is defined for a car. Manufacturers put GT badges on because it sounds and looks good for marketing purposes. I don't think I'm getting through to you . Let us halt this subject, at least between the two of us. I've just been having fun with you.
Hey, I'm planning a vacation to Canada this fall. Perhaps we can meet and you can buy me Dinner. Take care.

It's to bad you couldn't explain what you were trying to say. "Bye-bye" (how sweet)

I'll help stung_cb out on this since I was curious what he read so I went and looked it up on Wikipedia. Interesting read

"The car is timed and recorded going in two separate and opposite directions. This practice eliminates variables such as wind, directional traction of the track and driver performance. The two times are averaged together to achieve the commonly accepted 0 to 60 time.

Jalopnik has said that launch control systems appearing on production exotic cars in the 2010s have made published 0 to 60 times invalid, since these cars have slower times from 5 mph to 60 mph.[4]

Most car magazines and manufacturers in the United States use a rolling start allowance term "1-foot rollout", which means that the timer is only started once the car has traveled 11.5 inches (30 cm), reducing the measured time by up to 0.3 second."

Might you know how Kia determined the 4.7 time they speak of as well as the model tested and the location? I've been saying the Stinger is not Drag strip car nor a track car but, a GT car. I just want to close the 0-60 thing I started.

No clue but makes more sense reading people averaging 4.9 vs the claimed 4.7
