Evening,

Did a few pulls tonight. It's been above 90 for the past week during the day so I haven't had much pickings when it came to perfect timing. Draggy is cool and I'm glad I invested in one.

Only mod is drop in K&N filters.

Quickest Valid 0-60 mph: 4.52 sec

Quickest of the night w/2.74 slope: 4.45 sec

I see this as a real world test and I am haunted by DA. It was consistently 3600 ft. What this means is there is more to be had. I did about 8 runs with my first being 4.78 sec. Getting on a prepped surface will give a bit better gauge as to where I am. Since this was on a long stretch, country road, there was not much traction. I meant to take air out of the tires because the are sitting at 39 PSI all around. a few less PSI and I'll hook a better. A little wheel spin helps and not having any wheel spin can bog the motor.

See below for runs. Regardless of the 4.7 sec Kia stated from the factory, this is quite impressive considering the price/RWD/lack of mods. I'm considering JB4 but do not want to dig into changing the plugs. I know I'll have to from what everyone is saying but it's under warranty; why risk it? I'm sure I'll risk it LOL I hope to have a few more runs when it's cooler and with a lower DA. Should have a couple Thursdays off and will take it to the local drag strip on Test and Tune nights. Those will be recorded as well.

Figured I'd share with you guys. What times are you all seeing?

Nice runs! Get that JB4!

Thanks for the info. Were you using launch control?

That's quick! Here's my best 0-60 and 1/8 mile runs. JB4 Map 2 and K&N drop in filters, still not as good as your numbers.

0-62 (aka 0-100km/h) in 4.82 seconds

1/8 mile in 8.34 seconds @ 139.97 km/h

This last pic is my 0-62 time, bone stock.

0-62 in 5.31 seconds

Yes all were done with launch control. I can't remember which ones but I held a few for a short period and others for longer.

If you're running Map2, you should be below my numbers. Not sure what is going on with your times. Did you change spark plugs? Are you AWD? Try taking the tune off and see if you run any faster. If you do, you know it's the tune. If not, environmental issues could be the cause.

I would only run Map1 if I decide to get a tune and I would expect low 4.3s or high 4.2s. Check back after pulling off the tune and doing a few runs. Hopefully that is the issue since it can be tracked.

What app is that?
Dragy, it's a GPS performance unit.

I am doing Map2 with 91 shell fuel, AWD and my GPS drag app give me 5.22 (0-60MPH). I changed denso spark plug.
everything else stock

That seems very odd. Did you gap the spark plugs correctly or did they come pre-gapped?

I went to a local shop do that. I told them to gap to 0.022" . I have upload my log and wait terry to check that if the log can tell it is corrcertly gaped or not.

did you get any feed back on if they were gapped? I have denso stage 2 plugs and it appears they came pre gapped. I noticed its a sluggish. If so what is the program you used to tell if gapped correctly?

There's no program to tell plug gap.

You have to measure them with a feeler gauge before installing.

I'm on my 3rd set of Densos, they do not come pre-gapped (maybe the BMS ones do, but I highly doubt it)

I just got a new set of HKS plugs and even though the product description says: "pre-gapped", it is around .28 - .30'ish. I check regardless of what the descriptions say.

Thanks for the fast reply. I purchased the step 2 Denso plugs, It was pre-gapped at .022 when I received from bms. on the plug it said not to gap.

Thank you for the details

That's nice to hear they come pre-gapped from BMS. Maybe I'll get my next set from them and save myself 10 minutes.

Are you 100% certain of that? Did you check the gap for each plug yourself? What exactly was the wording for not gapping the plug?

It could say don’t gap because it already has the necessary gap. However, it could also mean don’t GAP these plugs because we won’t warranty them if you gap them yourself.

Mine were all .026. Did you regap them yourself?

My HKS came gapped at .026. I did gapped them at .022. Runs great! I bought another spare set and came gapped at .024.
