• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Stinger Insurance in Melbourne

Welcome @Stumpeter , to our stingerforum, Congrats on your new Stinger. which exterior and interior colours did you choose, if you can post some photos soon that would be great, i'm from the Northern suburbs, where you from?

G'day guys, 1st post on this forum, picked up my MY19 GT on Tuesday, I've opted for a high excess of $1200, but that got the premium down to $522.00 with AAMI. Insured for $65000 as I got the bimodal included. I'm in Melbourne. Got lots of policies with them, don't know if it made any difference though.
Welcome aboard lots of handy information to be found within just use the search find tab.

So what colour and what trim did you opt for? And I know its early but are there any mods planned in the future?

Hi, thanks for the welcome, I got a Hichroma Red with the black interior, I'm from the outer east of Melbourne, still trying to work out how some of the gizmos work, the owners manual is not bad but still a lot of trial and error happening!

I've got a quote from AAMI, 35 years driving 30 years rating 1, never had an at fault claim but had 3 cars written off by muppets, MY19 GT Silver/Black, coming in a few days. $727.00 with 2K excess, 2 year new for old replacement and agreed value $65,000 I don't care about the excess, I don't crash my cars, others crash into my cars ;)

Still going to a broker to see if I can do better.

Paul.

RACWA 65000 with 550 excess 795 a yr 65% no claim bonus.

There's a big difference in the incidence of claims on East coast compared to Perth hence lesser premiums.

Do an online quote with a few companies as it's usually cheaper. Broker usually receives around 10% commission and in most cases will charge a "Broker Fee".

Smashed em down to $646.20 so good enough for me in Victoria, the car crime capital of Australia. Yeah I did all the main companies, the worst I got was RACV, $2200.00 I guess they still don't like hi performance cars. And Shannons owned by Suncorp with AAMI owned by Suncorp, but shannons was $1760.00. I have another car insure with Shannons but its a club reg and only comes out on a Sunday every 3 months or so.

Good price, well done.

35yo, have not made a claim in my life and about to pick up my new Stinger this Friday. Got a quote of $688 per year from Budget Direct with $700 excess. Surprised no one mentioned Budget Direct, are there issues with them?

Another good one seems to be AWN Insurance which seems to be getting the best reviews when it comes to claims being made. For me they quote $660 per year with $900 excess or $715 per year with $700 excess.

Just make sure what insurance covers, old for new, windscreen etc.

Yep all the more reason for you guys to come live here! Lol
Then we can drive every weekend!

$1280, RACV, 25 years old, 65k agreed value. Best I could find. Other insurers wouldn’t even consider me giving an excuse that “the stinger has a minimum age of 30”.

Suncorp was like 2k+

I think it’s actually not that bad given my age and the agreed value. Also includes windscreen cover and 2 year new for old replacement cover. Might drop it down to market value during this 2 year phase.

You're right for a twin turbo and being aged 25 that's good value.

I use Budget Direct . No issues at all. Made a claim and used by own repairer

NRMA, renewal came in, $1211.95, that includes 65% no claim bonus and 17.5% loyalty discount. $850 excess and agreed value of $56,250. The premium has actually gone up $100 from last year and the agreed value has dropped $7,750. Never had an at fault claim, spotless driving record. It would appear NSW gets ripped off as much as Victoria or the insurance companies simply have no idea about the Stinger and are just making shit up as they go.
