Borla exhaust on a Stinger

Just installed mine last week, definitely lovin it. Just needs some DP's I think.

Do you hear any drone? I'm considering purchasing it.

I think next to muffler deletes Borla is considered the most drone producing exhaust for the Stinger.

Thanks. Too many differing opinions on this and from every sound clip I’ve heard it sounds great and I don’t pick-up any drone. And the sound clips were from the Stinger. I will need to hear it in-person so I created a thread to see if anyone in the Bay Area has it installed so I can drop by and listen for myself.

I've never read anyone's review of a Borla that said there's no drone. Actually a lot of owners end up dynomatting the hatch to try to reduce it.

Good luck.

He's a member here. I haven't seen him post in a while but if I remember correctly he wasn't exactly thrilled with his Borla. I believe he hated it, actually. I think he even tried to trade it to someone for their stock exhaust. But he went through extensive sound deadening mods to curtail the drone and ended up keeping it.

I'll dig around and see if I can find his posts.

Here's a post from him from back in May detailing his quest for a cure.

I am still messing around with different sound deadening experiments for the cargo / spare tire area. I suspect that this is where most of the interior noise is coming from. I already installed dynomat in that area with limited improvement. Also put a layer of closed cell foam on top of that... Still not too much difference. Next I am gonna try a sound deadening insulation called Rockwool Safe N Sound to fill in above those layers and below the cargo carpet floor. John67 stuffed a bunch of towels in his and he thinks interior noise was greatly reduced.

Ark isnt as drony as Borla but still too much for me. I swapped the muffler to flowmaster dbx which helped alot. I just added sound deadening in the trunk and some under the seat to see if i could take a bit more edge off to get a dp. The sound deading works great for normal exhaust sound maybe too good. But the mild drone seems unaffected! So don't plan on sound deadening for drone as it may not do much. Its possible the drone is comming through the pipe walls more rather than the tailpipe or the frequency goes through the sound proofing easier, not sure.
But don't under estimate the drone power of this car. I had a catless evo with straight through muffler that had less drone.
Also ark has 3 anti drone chambers per side. Two are visable and the third inside the muffler.
The anti drone does work as people have added them diy. But with no anti drone borla on the stinger must be a droney beast.

The hatch is a drone factory.
