Spoiled by my Kia Stinger, even driving 2019 BMW loaner

So I’m convinced that I’ve been spoiled by Kia and now use my Stinger as a benchmark when comparing any other vehicle I drive.

For example, my car is in for service and I was given a 2019 BMW X3 as my loaner. I’ve never been more disappointed in a BMW. I can’t believe all the items that bother me, and the lack of features when compared to my GT2 is astounding. I know it’s not a direct comparison, but if I owned the X3 and then found out how much more you get for similar price I would truly be upset.

I miss my White(light gray) Nappa Leather 16 way ventilated seats, HUD, Smart Cruise Control, semi-autonomous driving, H&K audio system, many convenience features, and oh yeah POWER!!! I’ve never missed a car so much in my life and swear I’m having Stinger withdrawsJK JK

But it just reinforces what a great value Kia is and how much technology & advanced features you get for the money. The Stinger must be one of the best “bang for the buck” vehicles in recent history.

I honestly never thought I’d say it, but I’ve been spoiled by a Kia!

Totally agree with your sentiments, this is the best car I’ve ever owned & it’s a Kia.
If you told me I would own a Kia 10 years ago I would have said you are nuts & not while my bum points to the ground.

Well we are on our 4th Kia since 2009
1st 2009 Kia Koup - wife’s car, zero problems
2nd 2013 Kia Sportage - my car, zero problems
3rd 2017 Kia Cerato Sport (Forte) Hatch - wife’s car, zero problems after 4,000kms
4th 2017 MY18 Kia Stinger GT - my car, zero problems after 12,000kms

Being a Pontiac & Chevy muscle car guy I know exactly what you mean. I would have laughed at anyone suggesting a high performance Kia, or that I would ever own one. Amazing how far & fast they’ve come up.

Unfortunately I’ve had a few issues with my Stinger, but it’s still one of the best cars I’ve owned as well. The power and features you get for the money is amazing. Its simply 90% of a S7’s performance and luxury items at half the cost! It also looks so similar to my friends S7 he mistaked his for mine when we walked out to our work parking garage.

He was blown away by the similarities so I took him for a ride and explained all the luxury features the GT2 had. He was at a loss for words and couldn’t think of anything his S7 had that mine didn’t. He even complimented me on the smooth ride and said it felt basically the same as his! Once I explained how Kia took top Audi & BMW M’s designers/engineers he was sold. He’s actually looking at a Stinger for his son now.

Well down here you are either a Ford or Holden (Chevy) Guy.
I was a fully one eyed Holden guy, I owned over 5 of them (excludes the 12 years of company cars) over the years, my whole family had Holden’s it’s the way it was.
The way GM has treated customers here in OZ with their arrogance & current crop of crap offerings I will never buy another GM product ever again.
FYI they are now offering the following from the US, would you pay these prices
Chevy Silverado AU$130-150K based on today’s exchange rate that’s US$94,840.00-109,430.00
Chevy Comaro AU$90K based on today’s exchange rate that’s US$68,660.00
How many Aussies do you think are going to pay that sort of coin for these buckets of bolts?....to put it in an Aussie vernacular...”Tell em their dreaming”.
And don’t get me started on Fords treatment & Mustang offering...stepping off soapbox now, sorry.

Prior to the Stinger coming out, I went with a friend to Carmax to look for a car, my car buddy and I left her to look over the minivans and wagons while we perused the Panameras and A7s. Nice solid cars but that Panamera had way too many buttons but I liked its looks and feel of material, much the same with the A7. The A7 wasn’t my favorite based on the rear end as I much preferred the A5 Sportback’s design. I was set to look into an A5, then the Stinger came out and all of that went away. We still went to drive the A5 as that was the car I really though I wanted. When I found out that the A5 cost more than the Stinger GT2 and it came with a 4 cylinder, it was back to KIA to drool over this bargain of a car.

With the deals being what they are now on the Stingers, you’d be nuts to not pick one up.
