So you bought it or you leased it? 42K out the door? Or 42K plus taxes?

With discount and lease incentive, plus tax and fees, that's reasonable. I'm curious what you plan on offering them as a buy price? I've seen some listed for $43K, they didn't list if it was with incentives and before tax but it's the end of the model year so it doesn't hurt to ask.

Yes I leased with the intention to buy, I did it for the $7900 lease cash deal, 3 year lease, $0 down and payment is like $630 or something. I am in Va.

I'd be very surprised to see any dealer even entertain an offer of 40k on a GT2, even with the 2019 model on the way. You could give it a shot, but don't get your hopes up. Leasing with the intent to buy out the lease as soon as possible is still the best way to acquire a stinger atm, in order to take advantage of the lease cash offer on top of whatever you negotiate off the sticker price. If you choose to take that route though, make sure you understanding how a lease works and how the buy out process works.

Are you looking at a GT2 RWD or AWD? RWD carries a lease cash incentive of $7,600, while the AWD model sits at $7,900 for lease cash plus $1000 bonus cash. Pair that with aiming to pay invoice pricing for either ($47,050 for the RWD and $49,113 for the AWD, which are figures that include $900 freight), and you are looking at some pretty big savings.

Okay, well with the $7,600 in lease cash, you are only 3.4k away from your 10k goal. With invoice pricing being $3,050 below MSRP, I'd expect you can get pretty close. Good luck!

AWD cars are being offered for sale in the $46-47K range, should be able to do better on the RWD, don’t think you will get a straight 20% discount on any version. With the lease cash it will get you close but I don’t think any one has walked away, OTD with less than $40K.

I got like 10.2% off MSRP for what it’s worth and that was decently aggressive.

Get as much of on msrp before incentive (more than 10% as Anarchy got) then apply lease incentives.
