Afternoon everyone, I've now rolled 2k miles on my GT2 and have been absolutely loving it thus far. Save a for a few minor issues here and there (Paint!!!!) the car has been pretty damn solid!

As such I'm exploring some performance options for my stinger. Things I know I want to do is exhaust, air intake, catch cans, and a tune.

For the Air Intake, I was originally exploring the K&N typhoon but I actually like the look of the Stillen the more I see it.
For the Tune I was thinking the JB4 from burger tuning. It looks solid and I like the idea of being able to take it off for warranty work if I need to.
The exhaust I'm still in the air about. I do plan on getting my car on the track eventually and would like something that provides performance and sound.

Now the question: Where to start? I was thinking of starting either with the tune or the air intakes simply because they would be the easiest to get going. The exhaust was going to be a christmas present from my wife so that's already a delay there lol.

Unfortunately I can't post photos because I'm apparently to new.

Either will be a fine place to start. None of the mentioned mods require the others beforehand.

I did JB4 first, then exhaust, and then Stillen. There's no rhyme or reason for the order I did mine in.

Thank ya. I'll think I'll wait on the intake then because it looks like some new ones are right around the corner.

Off topic: Your quote 110% reminds me of the military medical experience. Vitamin M for Motrin.

if performance is your priority then I would reccommend: Tune > Exhaust > Intake

Lmao. Yea those were usually what I'd tell my Marines before sending them to medical. And sometimes the Corpsmen would echo it, especially the Motrin part.

My weekend briefings to my Airmen typically went.

Don't add to the population
Don't subtract from the population
Stay out of the news, jail, and hospital.
If you do end up in jail, establish dominance quickly.
If you're 'date' is less than 100 bucks, it's not worth it.

And remember, never pet flaming dogs!

I'm still on the sideline watching the products and waiting for more dynos, reviews, etc. While waiting I dumped the K&N panel filters in hoping for a bit. I can't say I got much in return. But it was before I was really driving the car with any "intent", so who knows.

My list right now is intake, intercooler, exhaust, likely a custom tune with separate ECU, spark plugs, and sway bars. And, since mine came with 18" all-seasons, I have summer wheels and rubber to decide on, as well. Reminds me, I've gotta save some more cash. LOL

By far your biggest performance gains will be with the chip. The exhaust and intakes are a much smaller percentage increase. So it depends if you are looking for more sound or performance. If you were dyno tuning, you would probably want to do exhaust and intake first to take advantage of any gains they might give. Since you are thinking about a "canned tune" it shouldn't matter much which order.

If you pop your hood up a lot, do the intakes first... :)

Army vet here. Water fixes any and all physical ailments!

Thank you members for your service first off!....so back in old school days I had a Chevy 482 with a Race Aero twin turbo system in a jet boat...she was my money racer lake boat....she had a nickle cooper 2 core intercooler that had lake water pumped thru it...and the intercooler would actually get a bit of frost on it on a 100 degree day.....the exhaust was straight pipes off the turbos and there was no effin air filters....lol it was all about the density of the incoming fuel charge pure and simple...of course all other parameters being at their best...always has been, and always will be the dense fuel charge and some octane too....and.....32 pounds of boost that the 482 had....soooo with that being said ,and me not wanting to have any suckin noises or exhaust noise on this particular car...it will be a bad azz intercooler for the GF's lil red stinger  Wash

For RWD cars do you guys think it is a necessity to upgrade to wider tyres after a chip tune (past ~400whp) or is it still fine with sock 225/255?

@xot1 as the guys from Tork have recently found out, yes the Stinger needs better and wider tires once you pass the 400 whp mark. Stock size and compound just doesn't grip properly.

Thanks, you confirm what I was worried about.
That adds a bit to the bill...
chip + wheels/tyres

The tires are actually really well suited for traction. The compound is very good. The problem is their size. Unless you spend a lot of time going from zero to max-throttle you should be fine with the stock MPS4 until they need to be replaced. They don't last too long anyway.

But when you finally replace them you will definitely want to go wider.

I have oil Catch cans, spark plugs, JT CAI and FMIC waiting for delivery as well as SSR downpipes waiting delivery also. Once I have all in hand I will get installed with all new fluids and if it comes out before all power adders I'm going to get the ARK coilovers and eibach sways.
Somewhere in this time frame I'll be purchasing the titanium Jun bl exhaust with a tork motorsports tune and HKS bovs.

Sounds like a good plan , make sure to post pics etc when you get the parts.
