2019 Kia Stinger Changes

You just love messing with our Aussie buds! Lol! I’m hoping the added items don’t raise the price considering we got the shaft on getting them in the first year. At $58 large, that would be close to what they plan on pricing the K900 which will have more space and tech, won’t be as fast but it will have the same platform, that would be shooting themselves in the foot. The car would need some additional upgrades to garner that increase.

Can you name another mass production vehicle that successfully competed in its category with cars $20k more expensive?

By percentage? Many cars from the early days of Lexus. Early Infinitis. Current Optima SXLs, Cadenza, K900, many Genesis cars, Xterras, Pathfinders...yes, I can name a few.

If any of them increased their prices by 10-15% from one year to the next they wouldn't have made it to a second generation.

Does anyone know when KIA will starting delivering the 2019's?

That's the $20k question right there... Unfortunately no body knows. But they'll probably go on sale sometime in the last quarter of 2018. And I have a feeling no one will know what the changes will be until when they're sold. A while ago there was a lot of talk (and hope) about KIA selling the 2019's in the middle of this year (like now). I don't think that's gonna happen.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Someone from Texas posted those images on Facebook. I reposted them to this forum as they look official, but as someone noted this information is not on an official website so caveat emptor! (Another link from Facebook stated the MSRP would be $58k. Hard to believe even if for a GT2 AWD. )

Very much doubt that when there is a debate over whether the top trim of the G70 - which gets pretty much all the goodies the US-spec GT2 didn't get (in addition to all the service/maintenance amenities) will undercut the current price of the GT2.

They stop production run at end of December I think and start February as I have not seen or heard about any January build dates.

Actually, come to think of it the Nissan 350 bumped up the price point quite a bit on the 370 redesign... the 370 is still hailed as one of the longest running, least successful cars of all time.

The thing that kills the G70 for me, is the trunk lid looks exactly like the old BMW 7-series deck lid. You know the one I'm talking about, the one that looked like an after-thought. The interior console is also cluttered, doesn't look like as much design attention went into it. I do like the upholstered door inserts though, those are a nice touch. The overall design doesn't really nail it. It's like everything in the car is 'close' to being awesome, but just didn't quite make it over the threshold.

Most of those competed in their own category on-par with price, definitely not 15-20k under the competition. Also, the key word there was "successfully" so I'm going to throw the K900 out there. :P

That's why I said by percentage. When Lexus/Infiniti came out a 10-20k price difference would have been unreasonable. But they sold for 10-20% less than their German competitors. Optima SXL aad Genesis' cars definitely punches above their weight classes. The Xterra significantly undercut the body on frame offerings from Toyota and Jeep.

The K900...man what a strange beast. Kia struggled so much with them that I saw them discounted up to 25% off MSRP. I thought for sure they were dead. When Kia announced it was making a second generation I was completely surprised since many dealerships still have brand new 2016s on their lots. I guess people in other countries are buying them?

My first thought - without any research, I would expect high rollers in Asian countries might be prime customers..

Looks like Panthera Metal is new for 2019. White,Black,Ceramic Silver,HiChroma Red,Micro Blue remain.

I though Panthera Metal was available in GT but not in GT1 and GT2. Also is silky silver gone from GT2?

Can you confirm whether the 360 camera is added to the GT2? And will pricing remain unchanged?
