Hi Guys,

Has anyone calculated the total value of the 5 yr maintenance package? I’m not too familiar with KIA service charges etc.

Thanks.

Just got my first oil change and it will likely be my last from the dealer.... $127.00 for 5W30 Synth oil... The only benefit is if i decided to do all of my maintenance at the dealership they will extend the power train warranty to 300K

I got that deal added to my Stinger Limited package.... I figured ~$1500?

$1,500 sounds like a decent price. What does it include beyond oil changes?

I found the cabin filter to be a strange replacement item. On my G8GT the replacement interval was 100,000 miles. 10,000 seems way too soon and an unnecessary expense and an item that is totally dependent on how much you run the HVAC system and your choice of fan speeds. I will remove and inspect mine at 10K but I don't think it will need replacement. Sounds like a real money-maker for Kia shops.

And what the heck is an "engine filter?" Air filters?

Cabin air filter change at 100K? I would say that’s an extremely long time to change that filter. That cleans up the air coming into the cabin.

Lol.. I change mine yearly (when I remember) and they NEED it!

Just going by the owner's manual.....different car, different system, huge filter.

It appears to include oil changes and cabin filter every 10 K up to 50 k or five years. One engine filter at 40k.

Doesn't sound like it's worth it. I buy oil and filter myself (Mobil1 EP oil or Penzzoil Ultra and mobil1 extended performance filter), submit a rebate to the oil company, go to local oil change place and pay $10-15. For stinger, labor might be expensive and you will need more oil than my current car. but still, it would be under $100 for sure. Air filter I do DIY.

In general, if you think about it, most extra coverage is nothing but insurance sold usually by outside companies. They make a profit. The dealership and finance guy makes a commission. What's left is the true extent and probability that you will ever need or qualify for the benefits. It's a numbers game after the profits are taken out. If you can afford to self-insure, you're usually way better off unless you tend to tear your stuff up.

For sure, but in these cases, they didnt charge $$$ - it was thrown in as additional incentive to buy/lease.

Ain't no free lunch. You can bet it is included in the price of the vehicle somewhere, somehow.

Hey Guys.... Dealership cost to us is 1250$$$

My dealer does free engine oil changes and car washes for as long as I own the car. This is with synthetic every 6000km.

Good, but you paid for it somewhere. That's exactly what I mean by hidden charges and profits. A local Honda dealer advertises "lifetime warranty" on their cars but their prices are higher than dealers that don't exceed factory warranties. Like I said, there ain't no free lunch.

I paid 53000 Canadian for a fully loaded awd limited.
