PRESSERtech Kia Stinger GT Dyno RESULTS!!

It took me about 2 hours but I figured it took so long because I've never gapped plugs before. I've seen more seasoned tuners post that it took them 30-45 minutes.
Took me about 45mins the last time and im by far not that handy with tools or cars for that matter, this was my 3rd time though, practice is key

With the plugs pre-gapped ready to go, for anyone competent in the shop with the right tools its less then half hour. Helps if you have a cordless power ratchet or air ratchet. The toughest part was breaking the IC charge pipe free from the silicone coupler. Was really bonded to it. Everthing else came out like a breeze

Me personally I would not tune this car without changing to new colder plugs and re-gaping.....I agree 100% with KRL STINGER... i dont care what anybody says...seriously if you spending 1000 bucks on tune dont cut corners it is well documented........no disrespect to pressertech but I am still debating between them and tork motorsports....can your tune take the speed limit governer off?? any more details on the tune please?
Hi, yes, we can remove the speed limiter. Our mapping is much different than piggy backs. We adjust right up to the calibration of torque curve while still maintaining a safe table in ignition, boost, fuel table and flow delivery. As far as gapping plugs go, we still have not seen evidence on this, no opinion. We WILL adjust our opinion if issue arises. If you want to replace with a cooler plug or gap around .024 that us perfectly fine. We understand the mechanics of why everyone is asking us to do it. The last thing we would want to do is be blind on the matter. Our mapping is keeping the heat range of stock plugs in good order. We inspected the development car plugs after 400 miles snd saw zero evidence of failure. We are inspecting again most likely at end of next week as car approaches 3k miles with our upgrade

Can you comment if your tune can/will be able to:
1. improve throttle response
2. improve shifting and
3. to give us the ability to customize shock settings
thanks

hello,
1. yes, we drastically improve the throttle response
2. yes, we can improve shifting through our methods of optimizing torque requests
3. At this time, we do not have a solution for the suspension.

we have received a few requests for this, we will be going into development on a module that can make the suspension the most aggressive possible with a kill switch to make go back to stock suspension settings. This is going to take some time though, most likely a product will be announced by year end. Thanks!

Excellent news.....

What about torque limits at launch? Especially AWD models. There is a pronounced delay in torque delivery. Would be great to see if that could be eliminated to get these things to 60' worth a damn.

Tork has a helpfull vid on this. It took him 50 mins with power tools. People have reported shops charge 2 hrs labor for this. If you are an average home mechanic you better plan on 2 hours or more.

Really. Glad to. Hear this, the hardware has the potential apparently, excited to see the results of what this can do. Dinan does a similar edc reflash and does absolute wonders for the last 2 gen bmw's with adjustable dampers. During your development, if you can explore if it's possible to have a range of adjustments in your module to allow for stock/aggressive settings, and perhaps some adjustability in between for people to tailor ride/handling balance to their own needs would be great. If this is possible at all this would be worth more than an ecu tune to me.

Edit: Have you been able to find a source for factory ecu? Tork is currently offering a ecu loan program where they would lend you an ecu that would allow you to drive around (with cel and comfort mode only) while you send in your ecu for reflash. Would you guys look into offering a loaner program?

PRESSERtech,

do you have any updates to share? mileage update on test car? Advanced results? AWD tune progress?

Sorry for the delay in response.

We are going to Germany in September on business and while we are there we are going to be meeting with Bosch. So hopefully we will have a new source for ECUs.

Our development car has 7500 miles on it as of today. No problems, client is completely thrilled.

We booked an AWD tune that should be coming in tomorrow. There is not going to be much difference from the RWD other than the extra drivetrain loss that is to be expected.

Im not sure what the question about "Advanced Results?" ??

Just that your tune is still fine running stock plugs.

I really want to get your tune for my AWD GT2

So far stock plugs are performing how we would expect. No problems whatsoever. We won't get into that debate other than to say we have seen no degradation and no fouling of the stock plugs. We are tuners guys.we are never going to compromise stock components.

GT2, give us a bell.

How much will these new ECUs run? Def a nice option

Love it, please keep us posted. I'm in SoCal and need to keep the car running as it's a DD, so if you are able to source ecu's and send one out on loan while we send in ecu for tune, it would allow many non local owners to move forward with your tune.

I'm going to pull the trigger on this tune late next week while I am out of town. I'll simply drop my ECU off with FedEx Wednesday evening and re-install the tuned ECU when I return Sunday. I doubt I'll ever run it on a Dyno to know exactly how performance changed, but I will be happy to report on my feelings of exhilaration and occasional kills along the way.
