How is everyone doing?? Hope your weekend was good....

So I’m gonna get a new car this coming week..

3 options ....

1) 2.0 with prem package stinger $40k Msrp....

2) GT .. MSRP $40k....

3) Optima SX-L .. MSRP $37k

So I’m debating between these 3 cars

Stinger is New and just a jaw dropper...

As much as I LOVE speed, i rather choose comfort and convenience over speed .....

So leaning towards the 2.0 with all options coming to $40k...

Or no need all that comfort, and get a base GT at $40k.....

And last ... the Optima SX-L turbo...

As the SX-L optima is fully loaded family sedan, but with turbo....

I think I’m leaning towards the 2.0 premium package stinger ...

Thoughts, insights, advice or suggestions be well appreciated!!!

O boy, how i’ve been down this exact road :) A test drive of all of them will help with your decision......Ok, now that you have decided on the Stinger (haha!) it boils down to what you really want in a car. I test drove a Premium first, then a base V6 and was bent on the premium for a long time until new lease incentives came out. Ponied up some more cash and bought a GT1 AWD. It combined all I loved about the premium with some twin turbo goodness. Trust me, its worth it. Keep us posted

For me, the most important thing was the engine which is why I went with the base GT. But if you want more of the "creature comforts" then go for the Premium. You'll love it, especially more than the Optima which, while nice, doesn't have the flair of the Stinger.

These are my thought and personal opinion:
- Optima: is out of the question. Because it's not fast, doesn't have the wow factor and I think its some what smaller that the Stinger.
- Base GT: has only one thing going for it, which is that 0-60 in 4.7s. So you would be driving a beast with some cool features also. If you're not a fan of the speed/acceleration you shouldn't go with this option. But, if you are, this car will feed the demons inside you that NEED FOR SPEED.
- Premium: according to your feedback of course, is my way to go. The premium is also considered fast but not sports car fast like the GT. with all the features and comfortableness, you find yourself not needing the speed so much and enjoying your day-to-day cruise with ease.

Again.. you need to test drive both to really make a decision. Like other here stated.

There one criteria that nobody mentioned. which is re-sale value. I believe that the base GT will have a better re-sale value in the long run. So if this is something you care for, I believe it's worth your consideration.

I hope I've been helpful.

100% right about the resale value. If you care about it at all just be prepared. Go take a look at the used Stingers on autotrader.com and cars.com to get an idea. Most of the 6 cylinders appears to be holding their value somewhat decently but the 4 cylinders are taking massive hits (in my opinion!). Of course, if resale value is only a small part of your equation then who cares. Buy it. Drive it. Enjoy it.

I paid $38.5 for a GT1 with the Driver Assist package, might be less now. You mentioned speed between the Optima and Premium, I believe they basically have the same engine. The Optima is most likely lighter so performance should be close. My main decision was to get the power of the GT and also have the features of the Driver Assist package and the sunroof, hence the decision to lease the GT1 with DAP.

Everyone is going to have their own opinion, one isn't better than the other. I'm in the performance camp, so no guesses to which way I would go...

Who said the GT is not comfortable? Put it on comfort mode and be surprise how tame it is. Put it on sport, Beast! Plus its a hatchback for practicality sake. Why not get the best of both world?

All Stingers are comfortable. The driver mode selector makes them equal in the comfort class; leather interior, standard stuff throughout. Adjustable seats (and adjustable-plus; only the GT2 has 16 adjustments; all trims have great seats, etc.). Raw power goes to the 3.3L. The 2.0L is enough car for most people. If you are a passer and want to get around everybody in your way on a road trip, don't hesitate to opt for the 3.3L. Then if, like me, you want that sunroof and Harman Kardon surround sound, the lowest trim you can settle on is the GT1.

His 3 options were Stinger Premium, Base GT or Optima Turbo.

Counterintuitively I recall reading an article that said people are usually more satisfied with impulse decisions vs taking their time to research and compare and making a tough decision. Something about second guessing no matter what option you choose vs. just being happy with the first thing that caught your eye.

I say go with your impulse and get the Premium 2.0. It will have all the luxury features you want and if you do want to add speed there are tuning options. You can't add hardly any of the luxury features to the base GT.

Taxes in the US are based on the price of the car and the state you live in.
Hm .. here it’s based on exhaust (g/km) and Type of Engine..

2.0 will be about 230 € a year, the 3.3 over 360€ - im coming from 172 € - that Would be Double+

We do pay local taxes that can be influenced by the engine size, but I will say that most people don't consider that when choosing a vehicle.

I am originally from the UK so I know how insurance and taxes are over there, to say nothing of the cost of fuel!

Yeah, no doubt the resale on the Stinger will be higher than the Optima; the Optima is pretty popular. But then there's a reason the Optima is popular - nice comfy car. My son bought one the day I bought my Stinger. His was planned - mine was not.. ! lol

After I found out that there was an additional $3000 incentive for a multi-car purchase from Kia - I went ahead and did it. I was so impressed after test driving it.. I traded in the 2015 Mustang I had for a GT.

I'd just test drive whatever you are interested in and then decide :)

All good choices, to be honest. The rest is subjective to each individual. My GT had a couple extras, like AWD and not sure if the puddle lights are standard on the GT or not - it was one of their showroom cars, but there was some off the price for that as well.
