K&N appears to be the only intake option at this point correct? Unless someone comes up with a ram style ducting the options will all be filters on a pipe. I’d like to see some more options to try to bring the price down from $400.

Who else has made intakes for Kia vehicles like the Optima that we could reach out to about development?

I sent something to Injen and BPS but it’s hard to find Optima performance sites without mainly finding eBay parts.

@ImportSharkMike I see in the 2.0 Intake thread you are working on intake development. Anything for the GT?

Injen, AEM and Stillen are all working on intakes for the 3.3, but don't have ETA's. CX Racing will be doing one as well. I think Stillen is going to be the first of these to market and would expect theirs to be available mid to late March. The company that we're dealing with is NGM and I'm pretty darn sure theirs will be released right at the beginning of March. They'll have a basic SRI design first and then potentially following up with a carbon fiber heat-shield variant shortly thereafter. I believe this is very closely modeled after K&N's design.

Injen intakes for the 3.3T are avaible and now live for sale on our website!

And how could we forget Jonny Tigs intake. JT 3.3TT CAI Group Buy
Looks even more amazing than the other expensive intakes, has some heat shielding and is the only one so far that has a chance of making more power than the $200 intakes since it optionally modifies the stock cold air ducting to pull in more cold air.

Don't forget Stillen. They will have their intake out in 2 weeks!
(2 weeks from whenever you read this)

There is a reason for the cost, if you're looking for a cheap intake then either of these options will work. If you want a quality designed intake expect to pay for it

Lol ummm where I hope you're not referring to NGM's as "cheap". It's inexpensive compared to other options out there, but NGM's products are excellent (not that welded aluminum piping is overly complex) and S&B is as respected a filter brand as Injen and AEM.

In my experience, you get what you pay for.

Well, what I can tell you is that NGM is a very reliable brand. They were HUGE in the Tiburon scene and still supported the Gen Coupe and Veloster scenes on the side even though they were bought out by a larger company in the Nissan GTR market. I totally get it that their SRI setup doesn't have heat shields but then again neither does Injen's. Also I'm sure you're aware that many "heat shield" setups on the market aren't overly beneficial anyway once those shields heat up. NGM just saw the opportunity to make a basic SRI and it's actually decent stuff. It's not like they use Spectre filters, right? S&B is good shit. When I get inventory here, maybe I'll send you one of their setups to check out if you'd like.
