Ran into a 2018 Stingray on the open highway and let me start off by saying that thing sounds insanely amazing with the exhaust he had.

First run was me passing him around 70 and him playing catch-up... so not a true race at all and I shut it down at 130 without him being able to catch up. (Ricer flyby)

The official run was from a dead stop at the light. Unlike my run in with a 2018 Mustang, I launched with launch control and had him until he passed me at 70. By about 100, he had me by a car or 2.

So launch control is my true buddy and I’d be excited to see what the Stinger could do with 450-500whp.

The wife was behind me in our Sorento...I got caught racing. Oh, she didn’t stand a chance.

*Note: No, I’m not mad that I lost...never expected to win, but wanted to see what she could do.

Well done, an impressive run against a car that is the epitome of a muscle car, some may disagree with that but that’s what a vette represents to me. The Stinger is truly a surprise package.

I think that is pretty impressive. Find a bad driver in a Corvette with a manual and I bet they'd be even.

So what did the wife do to you? Lol

I got a text, but not a bad one. I personally believe she liked watching her Stinger go up against the Vette. She doesn’t really speed, but she ran into a Lambo at work a couple weeks ago and went chasing after him.

i see that my wife has been a bad influence on yours. sorry. i had shown her the traction control button, so she tries and proceeds to roll a rolling burnout down the length of our street. suffice it to say, all the female neighbors were upset, but their husbands and kids were all cheering her on. thats the life of the spouse of a bad-ass. the wife is the hooligan and i cook

AWD GT2 w/exhaust and intake bests an '18 Stingray to 70? Who'dathunkit?

heading home from work, see the distinctive taillights of a gtr in front of me doing 70, pull up alongside, honk three times and take off. i had him dead bang until i guess he woke up and blew past me at 110. caught up with him as we got off the expressway, roll down window and he says i thought they were quicker. told him, dude, what are you talking about. he says you honked and i thought we were racing. i'm like, bro, im listening to motorheads ace of spades, the honking was for the guitar solo. guy shakes his head and peels out, only to get busted as he blows past the cop sitting at the corner, in full view, lights flashing. guess motorhead dulls the senses of other people

At least your wife is still happy with her sorrento. Mine was happy right until the stinger arrived. Now we have 2 and my office mate has my wife’s sorrento. He is very happy.

I’d get a second one if they make a “R” version and/or maybe a v8 option.

A RWD stinger with bolt on's and a tune should beat the current gen vet. I saw one running 12.5 at the track last week to my AWD 12.7.
I raced a prev gen Z06 and beat him by a tenth. I doubt he was happy.

That seems unlikely, unless by tune you mean upping the boost quite a bit. The 2018 corvette base model has almost 100 more HP and torque and is several hundred pounds lighter. It goes 0-60 a second faster and it's quarter mile is almost a second faster. There is a HUGE difference from a 12.9 quarter to an 11.9.

A new vette running a 12.5 was probably someone with a manual, or at a real high elevation.

I was there and saw the 12.5 corvette run, the same day i ran 12.7 in my AWD. Average driver on an average day at an average elevation (350 feet). Just because the magazines say 11.9 doesnt mean an average driver can do that consistently. If my car was rwd (200 lbs lighter) it would be doing 12.5s also.
I also saw a hellcat charger run a 12.5 but he did have wheel spin.
