I've bought the RaceChip GTS Black and installed it a few weeks back. I haven't got the Bluetooth to work properly. When I originally installed it, I was unable to make my phone (iPhone X) pair with it. Even when I literally stood with the phone a few inches from the RaceChip box under the hood, it refused to pair (the pairing code was right). Some time later I took the car for a ride, and tried to pair again: Bingo, suddenly worked even without re-entering the pairing code. But I couldn't change between efficiency, sport and race. Either it didn't change or it totally dropped out (acted like I turned RaceChip off). A few times under normal drive, I've been able to change between the modes. Today it first didn't work, then I parked in my garage with the ignition on and then it did work.
When looking at the RaceChip device under the hood, everything looks fine on the display.

(I've requested support on RaceChip's website more than a week ago. No response whatsoever...).

Anyone else seen issues like this with RaceChip and Bluetooth?

Which iOS version do you have?

General Troubleshooting regarding the Bluetooth issue:
1. Disconnect all other Bluetooth connections
2. Pair your device with the RaceChip via the RaceChip App and not via the Bluetooth settings
3. Use the right pin (not a random one as you usually do with other Bluetooth devices)

______________________________
I have of course tried the "general troubleshooting" tips. Regarding 3: If the pin was incorrect, it wouldn't work at random. I suspect this is also the case for 1. and 2.

I'm using the most recent IOS: 11.4.1

Had a similar issue with androids new OS until they updated the app. Had to use a older version until the fix was made.

Do you have the latest version of our app? It is 2.4.4
We released an update 2 days ago that improved connectivity with devices running iOS 11.4 and later.

I can see that it was automatically updated on my phone yesterday. I'll try it out for a couple of days and see if it has improved.

Great, all feedback is appreciated.
Thanks!

I've had my car out for a drive twice today. Both times with the same experience: It takes significant time for the app to connect ("spinning wheel" for a long time). After that I get into the app, where I can choose between "Efficiency", "Sport" and "Race". When I choose any of them, I get "spinning wheel" for a while and then it return to the same setting and when I entered the app. In other words, I can't change mode. This is about the same as I've seen previously, except that it seems that I can get into the mode selection part of the app now, which seemed to be much more difficult previously. But it really doesn't change anything: It still doesn't work, and I can't change mode.

Thanks for the fast feedback. I'm sorry for the trouble. I have to go back to our IT. I might have some more questions and write you a PM then.

I've been out with the car 5 or 6 times today. Each of them I've been trying the RaceChip app. Only one time I was able to change mode. You can tell if it is going to work by how long time the app takes to connect. If you get the "spinning wheel" for a long time, you are unable to change modes. If you get it more or less instantly, the mode changing works.

Update: After the most recent App update I have not seen any communication issues between my iPhone and the RaceChip box. Everything works fine!

For me Racechip app works great but the XLR app works about 25% percent of the time.....

Revisiting the issue here Can't even install the app on my galaxy note 9
Any one else having issues?

Nope no issue here it always connect to my S9+ since the update last summer.

First, please make sure that your Bluetooth is activated. Then open the RaceChip app and establish the connection via the RaceChip app.
It's not possible to connect via you settings like you do with a Bluetooth speaker.
The Pin is not random, but exactly the one you find in the installation guide.
If you have any further issues to connect to the RaceChip, please contact support@racechip.us

Race chip rs not visible on phone and wont connect through app . android 8.0 smh

I am sorry to hear this. For the next steps, we would need your order number to identify the serial number of the product. Please include it to the email to our customer support.
