US/CAN: Possible all-glass infotainment screen on the Stinger?

Say the first batch of US Stingers came with the original screen, but you know a future batch will become available 3-6 months later will have the all-glass screen, would you wait, assuming everything else was equal?

It's such a minor difference, but aesthetically, the all-glass screen looks so much more modern.

I would probably wait. I'm going to wait anyway because I want to compare it with the G70.

I am waiting for next model year. Hopefully a few things happen-
1. Bugs worked out
2. Deep chroma blue option
3. Full manual mode
4. Full glass screen
5. Functional hood vents
6. Maybe a bump in HP
7. 20" wheel option
8. Cup holder cover (if not available already)
9. 360° camera (if not available already)
10. panoramic roof

You run the risk of a higher MSRP for all of the improvements though. But that Deep chroma blue might be worth it. Almost wish I never saw that color in the dealership.

I do not think availability will be that great this year and I am in no hurry.

That looks like it may be the first pic I've seen of a truly US spec Stinger interior. The nicer infotainment screen is noted but also no 360 camera button on the console, which agrees with the options lists released so far. Are there any other pics of this car? I assume this was at SEMA.

Hmm. You know, my local dealership didn't keep the car long, but I don't recall a 360 camera button. I remember the salesman just putting it in reverse and the screen split. The left side showed the back up only view and the right side showed the 360 view. Who knows.... ? The Shadow knows! LOL

I don’t think the 360 come up automatically...I think you have to press this camera button

The GT will definitely come with the 360 camera view! And I think you activate it by pressing the Camera button

Huh! To bad the demo is gone. But I do remember the demo I saw had the cup holder cover but the above picture didn't. Funny, how I remember the cup holder cover but not a 360 camera button. LOL

Not sure where you're getting your information, but based on the options lists that have been released by Kia so far, only "Rearview camera with dynamic guideline" will be available in the US, even for the top-most-trim GT2 models. Surround View Monitor is not listed as available equipment on any trim level. The US market, as far as I am aware, is the only market in the world where this option won't be offered at any price.

I am 99.9% positive the Surround View Monitor will be available in the US and more then likely on the GT2.

I've had three people from Kia tell me this, both at the dealer and corporate levels, but no one is willing to commit to that final 1%. :(

Yeah, Even I don't know that for sure. That is not even listed on anything based off my info. Seriously though, I really do think it will have it and it will be on the GT2 model only. The Optima, Cadenza, Sorento, and the K900 have it. The Stinger tops out at about 52k, which is more then the Cadenza SXL (that is GT2 with AWD added).

Thanks--this is the reasoning I heard from the three folks I spoke to, and which I choose to believe. Actually, a fourth person in management at a dealership did actually promise it had it, after supposedly calling someone in authority, but this week he quit the company to work in a law office, so his credit with me is now at zero.

Oh wow, he dipped out. Happy to help, I am just as excited about the car as anyone here.

For what it's worth, there are photos & videos of review models starting to appear on Twitter for the Stinger event this week (#StingerIsHere), and the cars are GT2 models based on the presence of the E-Shifter, but they indeed do not have the SVM View button on the console, and the camera bump on the front radar sensor is nowhere to be found. So that is disappointing. They do have the "upgraded" infotainment screen though.

James Bell said on Facebook that "Around View" will be available in the US market, so I'm cautiously optimistic it will just be a standalone option (as it is on most BMWs, probably due to cost). If so, dealers probably won't stock them, which means I'd have to suffer an even longer wait.

That'd be great if true. Even if it were a custom-order only option, you should to be able to get it here somehow, given it's available damn near everywhere else on the planet.

There's a hotel that I have to travel to on a fairly regular basis for work and the circular drive in front of the lobby where the valets park the cars in the morning is very, very tight and narrow. Having the SVM would be a huge benefit there.
