No callback from my dealer in a week, got quote for repair from their shop last week.
Called the kia customer relations number, and he did knowledge that the issue is widespread and that Kia is waiting on a resolution from Korea and is essentially in some type of holding pattern. He said I was clearly not the only one and they are working on a fix. I will see what the dealer says hopefully this week.Black GT1 Nov build date here.

There are two kinds from Kia that I know of: the touch up pen and the combo paint brush and pen. I have both. I got the former through the dealer and the latter through a link that @AV8R provided: KIA OE Brush&Pen Touch Up Paint Color Code : 4SS - Silky Silver Metallic that's for my Silky Silver; to find your Yellow you need to look on your door pillar sticker to find the color code. It took a little less than two weeks to get to me.
something like ceramic protection call protektiv
any1 know where can i buy yellow touch up paint please?

Thanks, I need to contact seller for shipping, I’ll get 1 for future rock chip lol as for now not too worry as repainting is happening soon
It has a pen one end and a brush on the other. Buying two is a good idea. Use the brush and dab a tooth pick in the paint to fill the chip. Have a look on youtube for the technique.

Got a call just now from Kia, they will call me this or next week to discuss repainting which take 2 week to complete and a loan car for the time
If its possble get extra coats of paint or clear coat ( at least 2 coats extra) to make it more resisant to rock chips. If you have to pay extra to get the xtra paint it would be worth it.

Exactly how mine looked!!

Just got finished hand-washing mine yesterday, and I have very similar chips. Like cracked eggshell. Noticed this on the front passenger door so far, as well as one of the wheels(?!).:(

Tried to buy a Micro Blue Stinger GT yesterday and was told that the vehicle had a hold on it and they couldn't sell it to me. So I think that KIa is still trying to figure things out.

I just checked as we have a Micro Blue on our lot. No stop sale for our unit. This must possibly be vin specific.

Touch up paint is working well for me. Three initial chips and touched up. Looks good. Can't really notice unless your trying really hard to find it. No chips since then. I have a lease on the yellow so I will enjoy it for the years I have it and let Kia deal with it once I return it.
Hopefully returning with multiple chips does not present a problem for you. The "Excess Wear and Tear" language within the Lease Agreement is HEAVILY favored to Kia so keep that paint pen handy!!

You mean wheel well? Or the actual wheel?

They are aware of my chips as I have been there multiple times. But after awhile I began not really enjoying myself with all these worries and running around. Bought the touch up paint. Went at it and it's no longer noticable. At this point, I choose to enjoy the car. Not to say people don't have a legitimate beef. I'm just saying, I hope your still enjoying your car despite it.

No loss of enjoyment here!! I am confident this will get fixed...one way or the other. There could be MUCH larger issues that we could be dealing with...

What is interesting is that none of these issues.....paint, fuel pumps on the 2.0, hatch rattles, etc have made it onto carcomplaints.com. Zero, nada, nothing. I wasn’t expecting dozens of them, but there is not a single logged complaint.

I got a call just now from Jaime at Kia Support. This was about my paint chip on the rear of the hood. I told her I touched it up and it’s now covered in Clear Bra. I don’t really want to rip that apart as I didn’t think they’d replace the cover. She was very nice and offered a set I’d the all weather floor mats to try and compensate me for my trouble. I’m not in snow country and didn’t really know what else I needed, she asked if there was something else. I accepted the kind offer, didn’t think of K&N air intakes,, quick enough. LOL. She also said if anything else happens like this to please call. I think this was very nice.
I did mention that I wasn’t alone with this weird hood chip issue and it was numerous colors. So if you have a hood chip issue please make sure they know at Kia.
