It only soaks up heat in bad stop and go traffic or sitting in a parking lot. I have a JB4 with canbus which monitors IAT. It goes up very slowly at stop lights and goes back down immediately when moving.

To me, I would rather put the $400 difference towards an intercooler that will provide way more cooling benefits than what itty bitty difference a true CAI will provide.. all of which are just my opinion

Intercoolers are available, and I agree with your premise. Really we need both.
