Me too, I can’t see why I’d want to change them. One of the first things I saw when I first saw a red GT2 rolling in a video and stopping, those wheels. Wow! On a Kia, Wow! I want a Kia? Am I nuts. Now I do. Are there better looking wheels, I’m sure. I’ve seen many wheels I say wow to. But when I’m happy, why spend that much money?
If you want others, sure why not, that’s your choice and your money. Be happy. I am and I’m staying put. The only thing is how to properly protect them. Maybe those blade edge things? I just fear they’ll de-stick and start flapping around and do damage.

I have had "protection" on my mind more or less constantly since I was forced into using three grits of sandpaper (ending with 2000 wet) to smooth out the crap I did to both of my front wheels. Maybe I'll see what a pro can do to finish the restoration job. But the minimum charge for the lightest restoration is still $125. It just goes up from there. Until at some point you say, I'll just buy new (currently $630 each). Eeesh!

I had rim protectors on my previous SUV, they were not the stick on's. They had tabs that went between the tire an rim. Red looked good on a white SUV with black wheels and protected the rims from curb rash.

@Paul32: Alas, I did not know of such things prior to my abusive driving (aka learning curve). Now it is too late. I no longer flirt with curbs. But, oh! the cost (to ego, equanimity, and ultimately pocketbook; I will restore/replace in the not too distant future: after I have one hundred percent satisfied myself that my words of confident assertion - "I shall never again rub my wheels against anything" - are not hubris) is hard to bear!

But they would cover the current damage and not keep reminding you of your past habits.

You guys need curb feelers and a nice set of 3" white walls. Post pics! :p

Mmm good!

Now it is too late.

...not really.

Just this afternoon I put on these protectors

ZD 8m For Ford Focus 2 3 Fiesta Mondeo Ranger Kuga Seat Leon Ibiza Lexus Car Tire Wheel Rims Protector Decoration Accessories-in Car Stickers from Automobiles & Motorcycles on Aliexpress.com | Alibaba Group

triggered by someone's damage to my passenger front rim. The car was out of my control on three different occasions, Dealerships body shop for emblem delete, Costco's tire change to A/S, and PPF application, all within the first 400 km. My auto tech pointed the damage out to me, commenting that this looks like a rash you get while on a drive-in coffee run ...
Nothing that I could do at that point.

This is how it looks now. @ $7 a roll (less than $2 per rim - I splurged and bought 2 rolls: red & silver or grey), what can you lose? :)

All you all make it sound/look so easy. YouTube only shows "install" videos for the sticky-backed stuff; not "fits between the tire and the rim" type of rim protector. It would help if I saw this stuff "in the flesh", being put on.

Check out Rim Ringz on youtube. should be an install video out there.

All you have to do is search for Rim Ringz install on YouTube.

Looks easy enough (if you have a good jack and air, I don't). But the comments give one pause ...

I invested in a cheap floor jack and air pump long ago. First time I installed these rings, I had Discount Tire do it. After that I replaced one of mine, due to damage, no damage to the wheel, and installed 4 on a neighbor's car. Also installed 2 damaged on her car after the first 4. You can purchase as many as you need for replacements if you can't stay away from the curbs. Again no damage to the wheels.

How much are they, then? A hundred bucks? Somewhere in the comments mentioned that price. Gah!

Have to admit, it's not quite that easy but you can use a rubber mallet to finish the job.
