How to remove and install spark plugs for your Kia Stinger

I don't think the intake or exhaust is going to make a difference.

Thanks guys! One more thing, after I pull the manifold to replace the plugs, is the gasket still good? Or do I need to replace it?

Hmm, well I did mine when it was cool outside. If I had to do it today, while my garage is 90+ degrees (unless your garage is climate controlled) I'd say it's an 11.

When I did mine I'd give it a 6. I actually didn't bleed until I was almost done. I dropped a bolt and when I reached into the bay to pick it up the sharp edge of one of the hose clamps razor bladed my thumb.

It's really not that bad. If you take your time and follow the video. Have the right tools ready. The hardest part I had was taking the intake tube off. It's not a bolt or a screw. It looks like 1 time use bracket. I just use pliers to slowly turn them out.

It's not to bad as long as u have patience the hardest parts is those dam clamps on every single hose is pointing down so it's a pain to turn them around to put pliers on them. I would consider myself an average DIY so I'm definitely no professional mechanic. But definitely try to keep your bolts organized I would say that's the most important part. Oh and one hose on the back of the intake was a pain to get lose so I just left it connected and just prop the intake manifold up out the way 20180701_152020.webp 20180701_151949.webp 20180701_152020.webp 20180701_151625.webp 20180701_151944.webp 20180701_151949.webp 20180701_152020.webp 20180701_152045.webp 20180701_152103.webp

Ohhh, you have to loosen the weird ass bolt on that clamp. I didn't have and have never seen the proper tool for loosening that thing so I used a pair of pliers instead. It took a long time and my forearms got a good workout but it's the only way I could figure to do it. If you have vice-grips they'll make short work of it.

I noticed in Tork's video they had a different bolt there so I assume they replaced it with a bolt with a normal head, which is probably a good idea.

The clamps on the charge pipe to throttle body rubber adapter have caps on them. Use a flat head screwdriver and you can pop them off and what you have exposed is an 8mm screw head. Just a heads up, those caps aren't magnetic and if you drop them in the engine bay you probably aren't getting them back. I lost one :(.

Good info! Wish I had known that a couple of months ago.

This only took.me about 90 minutes start to finish. Hardest part is just taking your time and remembering all the bolts you took out. Other than that, just have an air rachet with some various extensions. Certainly a regular rachet works, but took half as long to remove a bolt with one powered by air.

Vivid racing put this clip up
Apparently you can change plugs without removing throttle body and lifting manifold
I'm hoping this is true

Yes it definitely seems possible I know I took the whole intake off but I did say to my self you can get to almost all of the plugs without doing anything its just that one or two that is on the passenger side like he was showing that is the trouble but its worth a shot

I removed my plugs and adjusted the gap without removing the intake. Two swivels attached to a spark plug socket. 30 minutes tops
