Hey guys. New to the forum here and trying to decide what to get. I have driven the GT1 and GT2 and am hooked. I will be replacing a 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 that drives like a tank. Drive quality will be paramount in my decision, and I was wondering if there any descernable differences between the electronically tuned suspension in the GT1 and GT2 and the suspension in the GT? Is it that big of a difference in ride quality? I have not had the ability to test drive a GT yet so I was wondering if any current GT owners can chime in or any GT1 or GT2 with the electronic suspension could comment as well.

I would prefer purchasing the GT if possible. The only real upgrade I would want on car would be ventilated seats but not sure I want to pay an additional 10k to get that option. The sunroof and all the other techi stuff I can do without. The styling and performance is all common inbetween all three GT’s if I’m not mistaken so the next big priority for me is the suspension. So my big question is the extra 5k worth it to get the electronically tuned suspension? Any help and commments would be appreciated. Thanks.

The a$$ conditioned seats are awesome. Especially the day after Chipotle when your friends are in the car. And you lock the windows...

LOL!!! Agreed, definitely a nice feature to have especially if you live down south like I do.

The suspension upgrade is worth the GT1. That and the entertainment group. I don’t use the roof much but I love the way the car feels in sport

I have the GT and like the suspension. I think it was the perfect set between sport and comfort. You don't feel the bumps bad but it handles great. It's definitely a personal preference so I would recommend driving a GT and see what you think.

Yeah I think your right. May need to go get it in a GT and drive a GT1 or 2 right after to see any major difference between the two. I appreciate the reply’s!! If anyone else has any other opinions, please let me know! Thanks.

I have a GT1. But I must confess that aside from my top priorities (3.3TT, 15 speaker surround sound, sunroof), I didn't really concern myself much over the rest of the trim. I didn't opt for any of the driver assist stuff like all around sensors, etc. I have read about computer control of the suspension but since it is far beyond anything I've ever driven it is all so much hidden Juju to my mind! This car controls itself. Elsewhere, a thread about "stomping on it" or easing onto the gas pedal produced comments about the computer doing what it wants to: resulting in some differences in how the car feels under full acceleration: those differences being described as "pressed back into the seat" compared to "meh". The driver's demands are identical. But through a complex of mysterious reasons the onboard computer regulates the car's actual response to the driver's demands however it "judges" best (based on the kind of gas being used, the condition of the road surface, the "gription", etc.). Another thread talked about the suspension going absolutely rock hard stiff: no amount of driver modes would change it. So a trip to the dealer was necessary to check it out: resulting in a computer "reset". Hmm! The point is, this is going to be challenging to quantify by simple, limited test drives of the different trims of GT. It seems a bit annal to me, since I accepted going in that this car is literally in control of its own responses to a constantly changing environment composed of all four wheels, tires and suspensions; feeding or denying power to this wheel or that, etc. I noticed once, while accelerating onto the freeway, that my paddle shifter choices were overridden: the computer determined that I was letting the revs go too high (even though I was safely short of the red line), and upshifted for me. Thanks, "Computer", for looking out for us. Heh! :cautious:

welcome to the forum. i have the gt and quite honestly, i have owned other cars with the drive by wire transmission and i wasn't really impressed. granted, it was several years ago, and i am quite certain quality and feel have gone up. i agree that ventilated seats are one of the greatest invention made, but, don't really neew/want the sunroof, the stock system is loud enough for me. gps and such i already have on my phone. the suspension is great, doesn't punish you. but, like has been posted before me, drive both. either way, you will be getting a phenomenal car.

Thanks fellas for the replies. I will drive both and let you know if I pick up on on any differences. I do know one thing, that no matter what I choose, either will be a huge upgrade on what I currently drive. Thanks!!

Welcome to the forum! I have yet to drive a GT2 long enough to test out the adaptive suspension but I was really impressed with how the GT's suspension performed. I prefer the idea of a car with options, the power liftgate, heated steering wheel and seats and a good sound system. The Stinger offers that plus the adaptive suspension which should make it more fun. You have to test them for yourself to see which one you should get.
