How is tire wear out there? I have 3500 miles on car. Center band on all tires is bald already. Checked air pressure all good. 34 to 36 range in pressures. Any feed back would be appreciated.i can understand back tires being like that from putting power down. Tire is very soft. But fronts also doing same thing.

Do you have rwd or awd? Are you doing burnouts? I have about 4500 miles GT2AWD very rarely turnoff traction control/stability control. Have not been driving it very hard but not taking great care to preserve the tires either. None of the tires show any wear. I had them balanced/aligned at the six month oil change.

Post pics of your tires, there isn’t much tread on those center bands to start with. May also be worth investing in a tire gauge.

Have gauge keep tires in spec with psi. I am harsh on back tires. But fronts doing same thing.Had alignment checked already, drives straight , tires where great at first but there not going to last anywhere near 30000 miles maybe 10000 the way they are looking.

The Pilot Sport is one of the highest rated tires out there, including treadwear.

i have 3300 miles on mine and doesn't look like it's wearing too badly, yet...but, never been a fan of these tires - too soft for my liking, though it does offer a bit more comfort in city driving. I'll be going to a different tire once these are done.

Tire wear in center bands only implies over-inflation. Tire wear on BOTH outside edges implies under-inflation. Have a tire shop look them over if you can. Get a pro's eyes on them to see if you have any other odd wear coming from out-of-balance or out-of-alignment.

I rotated my tires at 4k miles and noticed the same thing.

Then I googled the tires to see what they look like when new and realized they're just made that way.

7k miles, can't rotate, because of the staggered setup, thread wear is normal. Pressures @34psi all 4 tires.

Really? They're not directional?

You should be rotating left to right though.
The manual says to rotate left to right - but the dealer SAID they checked with Kia and that they cannot/should not be rotated - so they did not. I'm not particularly concerned though. Any thoughts?

its the michellins, never liked them. too greasy when they get up to temp.

so does that mean we can just rotate left to right?

Correct. This only applies for models that have the staggered wheel setup.
Models with the 18" wheels can rotate normally as they have a square setup.

I've never been a fan of these tires, but it's also the first tire on a staggered setup that I can actually rotate L to R! lol
