This might be a stupid question, but I still can't figure out.
Does GT2 trim have steering wheel heating feature? if it does, where can I disable it? My steering wheel is always warm...I mean warmer than normal feeling temperature.

Steering wheel heating is reported to be only on the AWD models. There is a console switch to turn it on/off (p. 4-53 in your manual) the first switch to the right of the driver's heat/cool switch.

thanks mldavis2, mine is RWD I guess it shouldn't have this feature.

Inttesting...I did not know that. I'm in a all wheel drive to. These cars are crazy who would not want that?

What on earth would be the logic behind this? I do not get a lot of the decisions KIA made with the Stinger.

It seems that Kia was thinking of ambient temperatures. The AWD models had an excess of 18" all-weather tires and the heated steering wheel. I guess they thought that if you live in a more temperature climate you won't want the all-weather tires and don't need the steering wheel heated. Just a guess...

They pretty much assumed AWD=Cold weather=Snow. Hence why in Canada they only got the AWD and the US got both but with less features.

I agree thought the Premium 2.0 RWD should have had that and cool seats and rear bun warmers. I would have paid a few bucks more for a really premium ride.

Switch would be on the console between the seats where you turn on/off Ignition Stop & Go, heated/ventilated seats, etc.

I live midwest so we get cold weather every year. MADAVIS you have heat? Why do you have that I'm intrested. My father in law lives in santa barbra and it was so cold certain days and nights. :D

Love the heated wheel. I turn it on in the 40s. Got lucky to have a AWD with 19s and summer tires i guess. Couldn't find a rwd gt2 so maybe not that lucky .
Like the heated seats, when the car starts all that stuff us turned off.

It is my understanding (unverified) that only the AWD cars have heated steering wheels. I have a GT2 AWD 19" and mine is heated.

I couldn't believe the RWD GT2 did not have the heated steering wheel. Assumed it did since it was top trim level.
None of the salesman knew either. They were dumfounded and checked all their GT2 inventory.
Its really more insulting than anything they had to penny pinch all these options.

As I said B4 I would gladly pay a little extra for the premium package if it had rear seat bun warmers and heating steering wheel and ventilated front seats and maybe remote opening hatch. Love the rest of the package it is real premium upgrade from base.

Now I’m wondering if all the steering wheels are wired for heat but don’t have the switch if it’s a USA RWD car. So, maybe your car was miswired and it’s on and no switch to turn it off? If this is the case can a switch be retro fitted? Or are just parked in the sun?

It occurs to me that one could pull the fuse that would otherwise control the heated steering wheel to find out (assuming it doesn't cripple something essential)?

I found heating issue should be hot inside temperature, heating area is around the top of steering wheel which its covered by thin leather. I was just curious why the leather would absorb a lot of heat and cause it to be much warmer than the body temperature. I can tell it feels like inside wires heating more than just warm leather material. however, it does not occur when cold start or park at garage, so I guess it is just fine.

a cooled steering wheel would be an option i'd pay lotsa dollars for!
