• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

So I'm picking up my Stinger from KIA Richmond today.

It's a dealership transfer from North Shore down to Richmond.

My miss I didn't check the odometer before signing the car so it was definitely demo'ed since it had 548 kms on it already. My question is, is the PDI "test drive" suppose to add another 40+km to the car? Its sitting at 589 km.

Am I just being nitpicky? Seems a bit excessive by the dealer... They threw in free tire swap before I found out the kms, so they're not willing to give anything more at this point.

I test drove my car with 20 miles on it and when the test drive ended, I had around 35. When I purchased it the next day, there were no additional miles added to the car. It was still at 35 miles.

Update: Sorry, just realized you posted this in regional. Hopefully another Canadian can provide some insight.

Your'e definitely not picky, I would be angry and demand a discount its been demo'd. I actually said to the dealer before I bought mine I will check the odometer first.

It would be very difficult to do anything about it at this point - in the end, it's a small amount of driving and it could have happened at either end of the transfer (or both). Don't lose any sleep over it, but would give it a very, very thorough inspection inside and out, and make sure they note and sign off on fixing anything that isn't 'new car' perfect before you take delivery.

Congratulations on the new car - you're going to love it!

Thanks! I did take a step back and just made sure to do a very thorough inspection and caught a scrapped Wheel that they will be changing out.

Enjoying it so far!

Mine had about 135miles on the clock. Not ideal but I understood it was the “test mule” to some degree. This is in NC USA. I was more upset thinking it had blind spot monitors standard, nope on GT1. Enjoy your Stinger!

that would considered a used car at that point. you shouldn't have accepted deliver.

Not sure if i understood, they should have given u a good discount for that many miles, especially considering people drive cars hard when test driving. Also my gt1 has bsm, thats odd

Actually that is incorrect. It isn't considered a used car until after it is titled for the first time. It could have 30k miles on it and if it has never been titled it still considered a "new" car.

Edit: At least that is how it is in America.

In Canada it would be considered a demo

Your GT1 has the Driver Assistance package (+$2,000)

Yeah you bought a demo, or at the very least a coffee delivery shuttle. I wouldnt have paid full price for a car with 500km.

What everyone else has said, I would ask for a hefty discount since you got their test drive mule. I can guarantee you its been driven hard in those 548km's. I picked mine up with 11 miles (17km) on the odometer, and was sent pics by @KiaofMuncie via text/email of the odometer.

Definitely an issue to raise concern and get them to throw in some extra maintenance, etc.

The coffee delivery kid probably loved going to Tim Hortons 3X a week! How about a power slide with that frap and donut!

I actually have the same issue hahah. I had made a deal with a dealership in southern ontario. The vehicle I wanted was all the way up in the Northern part of Ontario. So the drive was over 416km and they had to drive it down to save on cost. Not sure if this would be considered new or used at this point cause when I picked it up it had over 500km on it.

It's a new car, with full new car warranty coverage providing it was never titled before you picked it up. I wouldn't lose any sleep over the mileage, as you know where the bulk of it came from.

Glad you were able to get what you wanted- enjoy the car!
