I test drove one today, very impressive. I've been reading the threads on here and everyone seems mostly pleased with the car. I did see one comment that the radio will not read text messages over bluetooth? You have to use CarPlay I guess. I have CarPlay now in my current car and find it pretty useless...but that is mostly because Apple won't allow access to Waze.

..now if only I could decide between the blue or the red!

oh yea...Is red exterior and grey interior available? I can't find one listed in a 200 mile search of the Baltimore/DC area.

The red comes with the black or red interior, who knows what 2019 will bring.

Thanks Wayne. Another question for you all please...on the 18" all season wheel/tire package...are those tires directional? I would be interested in this option if I were able to rotate the tires to get more tread life out of them. If they are directional, and therefore cannot be rotated, I am not sure it is worth trying to locate one since this is a rare option.

Welcome to the forums Jason! Glad you enjoyed your test drive hopefully you will settle on one I am sure you will love it. It is one hell of a car!

The best way to see what is available is to use the build configurator on the KIA website. This is no option there for a GT2 AWD with a red/grey so I am guessing it is not available anywhere.

I do not have a good answer if the All season 18's are directional sorry. I can say the GT2 AWD summer 19's are directional and sized differently though which greatly reduces your rotation options.

As far as the reading text issue I have not had a problem with it since I use Android Auto with mine. The google assistant reads my messages just fine and lets me respond hands free. I used to have an Iphone in another vehicle and I could use the talk button on the steering wheel as a pass through to the Bluetooth. Then I would just ask Siri to read the last message and or respond to it and it would work fine (without carplay) so that might be an option for you.

Keep the questions coming and we will see you in a Stinger yet!

The tires on the 18 inch wheels are able to be rotated. You can check out more info on them at TireRack if you like.

Thanks for the replies all. I have a GT2 AWD red on red purchased that I should receive in a day or two. The car is at the port still apparently, should arrive at the dealer very soon. Very excited to spend some time driving this car!

One more question- does anyone know if the UVO system for the US will be upgraded next year to include remote start/lock/unlock? That is super annoying that Canadian cars have this option, as well as surround view cameras and the US cars do not. I am hoping a software upgrade will get this working for us here in the US, but I am suspecting the cellular hardware is not in the car.

You are correct. The only KIA with this currently in the states it the K900. There is hope though in the coming years but nothing is for sure with KIA.
