2018 Kia Stinger Features and Options (USA)

So I guess it really won't have heated rear seats or the 360 camera. Highly disappointed. Seems almost idiotic on their part. Why take that away in the US, but not do it anywhere else?

Maybe they forget to write it in the list...
When you get the AEB the Front Camera is in the Radar Cover.
Never Seen pictures without the camera in this Cover...

I guess the ventilated seats only come with the Nappa leather trim. All preproduction cars had the upgraded seats...so maybe that explains that one. I just wish the Premium 2.0T could be available with that GT line package with all the GT2 options. With the miles I drive, better MPG is ideal and all season tires will last longer too compared to sticky summer tires, as amazing as they would be.

And for me, Automatic Emergency Braking is THE most important 'Extra' on my shopping list!

It might just be cost cutting. Everyone on this forum is flipping out that the car might go $2K over the "about $50K" that was initially floated by Kia reps, so those two options might have been good bang-for-buck deletes relative to buyer uptake on other models. I personally don't care about rear seat heaters, but I'm a huge fan of the surround view cameras.

I am wanting the 2.0L Turbo with the GT package that seems to be available on European models with the smaller engine. I believe the 2.0L Premium will have the surround view cameras which I want as well. I certainly hope so as I can get an Optima SXL that comes with the surround view camera. The thing I am wanting as well is the Stinger script logo on the hatch lid in place of the KIA emblem. You don't need two KIA emblems on the car! Americans want to see the model name "Stinger" across the back!

Are they going to put that on the back?

When I talked to reps at the auto show, where a Korean spec with Stinger script was on display, they said (and they seemed to regret it) that in the U.S., we would get a Kia badge in the middle of the trunk lid, with Stinger in small script on the left side. They checked something on their computer before they told me that, so I'm half-trusting that it's accurate.

The Kia badges are easy to remove and the OEM/ Factory STINGER script and E badges are readily available for purchase and very simple to install , now we need the source for the wheel caps and steering wheel airbag covers to complete the transition . They'll all be available for purchase when the cars are shipping to the ex Korea markets

It is strange having kia on the caps. It will be better with something else.

If you start researching badges/emblems you'll find several alternatives , theres a very aggressive looking replacement badge from a company called Brenthon , additionally 3M make auto vinyl in a very realistic crbon fiber pattern in several colors and it works well for covering wheel caps etc

I don’t know how to do that does it peel off or something like that?

I didn't think it was worth 50k to be honest. Neither did Kia in both Korea and Canada.

They took away 3 options and still came in $2600 OVER their initial estimate. o_O The GT2 + AWD costs $11,500 less in Canada with those options added back in. So the removal of options "is the only way to hit $52,595 in the US" is total BS. I will take "they wanted to maximize every last cent of profit" with some "the US market will take what we give them and like it" on top instead.

Are US dealers able to take orders yet ? ie do they actually have an official Stinger order sheet , I would think with such limited production /availability they would bundle features and options into a few Packages and limit the amount of customization to make production more efficient ?? The US is going to be the big opportunity for them and I cant imagine they would over price the Canadian market ??

I'm going to bet that a fully loaded AWD Stinger in the US will be about the same price as a fully loaded Sorento V6 . There has to be some relationship to to the existing portfolio in the US and they did promote the Sorento as a "flagship" vehicle as they are with the Stinger ...........................so maybe $45,000 ish ??
