Bought a Stinger GT2. Part of the deal was the remote starter, but this particular car didn't have it installed in the factory. I was given a "WE OWE YOU" and had to make an appointment to have it installed. So this past Saturday I had an appointment to have it installed. Early that morning I received a call from the mechanic telling me that theyre not available and that they don't make the for these cars. I called the salesman and he did some research and said that as of now they're only available when the cars made in the Kia factory and not after. He said in the summer they'll be available to install. Anyone hear of this? Is this true?

I use the UVO app, let’s you do everything a remote starter can and much more. Best part is, it’s free, built right into the Stinger.

When I bought my GT2, it didn't have remote start either- but I wanted what I wanted. A week later my dealer had the KIA parts and installed it for me. It works fine.

Have them contact Archer Kia in Houston if they need details. Your dealer sounds like he's not really trying, what he is telling you is not correct.

Edit-> The UVO app that Canadian cars use is different than US cars, our UVO does not allow remote start (yet).

It's available, just pricey; local dealer wants $800-$900 for unit and install. I've seen the units priced for around $400 online. Unless price comes down, will probably wait for Viper options.

It’s possible to have a Kia remote start installed after taking delivery. There’s a thread on her called “remote start” with multiple people who have had that done (me being one of them).

If the dealer continues to give younissues call the Stinger Customer Service Line. They will get it sorted for you.

Either way the dealer owes you something because of that “We owe you” form. Saying “sorry the part doesn’t exist” doesn’t erase them oweing you something.

Find another dealer or look for the part online. The parts are about $300 and install should be about $200. Pricing will vary based on region but $900 is a bit much.

That's what I told the parts and service manager. I could buy an exhaust system at that price.

That's not true. I bought my Stinger GT2 AWD limited and it was suppose to have a remote engine start as well. My dealer said they would make good on that and order the starter. It took them a couple weeks to get it right but they got it installed and works great. It didn't cost me a dime. Because it was "suppose" to have it. I did see the cost to do the work and if I had to pay for it, it would have been just under $500.
