TX dealer inventory shows almost 100 GT2s each in Houston and Dallas (mainly slick red). Only 3-4 GT0 in a hideous yellow. Maybe a dozen GT1 all in hot summer black.

Safe to say they are not selling what car model they are building?

Kia did some weird stuff with the colors. When I was shopping I wanted a white base GT. There was not a single one outside of California. At the time every base GT available within a 500 mile radius of me was Micro Blue. If unwilling to travel there's no chance I would have been able to get a base GT in any color other than Micro Blue.

To get the exact color combo you want you may have to travel outside your immediate area. Or maybe wait a few more months in hopes that Kia corrects whatever it's doing with the colors.

Or order one..and it may be your opinion that the yellow is hideous, but we all have different tastes.

How do you determine sales based on inventory on hand? If you were able to tell us the inventory is exactly the same as a month ago you would be fine. But perhaps the inventory as is is actually based on their sales trend?

"Ordering" appears to not be an option in the US at this point. They match you up with a vehicle that's already here or inbound, but there's no option to select the vehicle you want, even if you're willing to wait.

At this point, I have more faith that I can get a G70 exactly as I'd like before I'll be able to get the Stinger I want. That saddens me..

I’ve followed local inventory since first of year, waiting for base Red GT, and it alway skewed towards numerous GT2, maybe a dozen GT2s on Jan 1 and doubled each month to the now 90+ with 100 miles of downtown Houston. It’s a marketing/markup ploy to sell self driving options based on color choice, that appears to have backfired. All this waiting and now the Turbo Mazda 6 is out.

And I am guessing that if inventory is up that much on the GT2 then that is what is selling in that market. Nothing backfired it sounds like to me. Unless you have information that says inventory is going up because they keep getting more from Kia without selling any.

I will agree with you that what you want appears to be a unicorn. There appear to be no red GT in stock in the cities I checked. Whether that is an error on Kia's part or stocking what sells is a matter of opinion.

22 Red GT listed on cars.com right now...

Contacted the nearest dealer on your GT0 cars.com list (Kansas 1000 miles away) and 0 GTs in lot. The others were priced at GT1 and 2 levels. These dealers don’t even know what they have.
