Hello everyone. I'm David from PROSS - LAP3

PROSS is the tuning division of SPIRRA of Korea. If you aren't familiar with the Spirra, it is a Korean super car manufactured by Oullim Motors.

We develop ECU tunes for KDM platforms, as well as Euro & JDM. We've been offering full ECU tuning for the entire KDM lineup for many years with great success, including 600-700whp Genesis Coupes, 400-500whp Optima & Sonata, and more. The Stinger has a lot of potential, and we are here to take the Stinger to the next level.

We have tuned a several Stinger 3.3T ECUs already, and have seen great results with improved driveability & reliability vs. solutions that are out on the market. We are still working on ECU re-mapping before we release it, so stay tuned :)

If you'd like to see some of our work logs, you can visit our Facebook page or join LAP3 Performance discussion group on Facebook.

Is this going to be delivered via handheld flasher? Mail-in ECU? Easily reversible for dealership service visits?

The tune will most likely be sold with a new spare ECU.

Simple plug & Play, and also doesn't leave any re-flash trace on your factory ECU.

This method has been the best for tuning Hyundai & Kia, especially if you are worried about dealership visits.

I had a spare ECU forfmy Corvette and it was a huge PITA to switch out because the fender had to come off to access it.

Where is it located on the Stinger?

If you look under the hood, you can find the ECU at the top right of the engine bay.

3 pop clips hold the cover and 3 10mm bolts hold it down.

It's a 5 minute job for a first timer, and ~3 minutes if you are familiar with it.

Some ECUs for other cars are under the dash and it may take an hour. However, it is extremely easy to swap an ECU for the Stinger.

Great News! Will be waiting for the release. Do you know how much this ECU will cost?

It's like they WANT us to do it...

Since you have previous experience with the 2.0l motor in the Optima, will you also be releasing a version for the 2.0 Stinger as well?

Will it allow loading multiple tune portfolios/presets? Say I want one for the road and one for the track and maybe one “stock” default that is used when someone else is useing the car.

That would require a re-flash module. Although we have developed it for the Optima/Sonata 2.0T-GDI platforms, it is unlikely that we will make another. Getting a spare ECU and a module can get very costly, and I'm not sure if that's what the market would want. Uncle Chip offers various settings for boost, since it is a piggy back set up and it doesn't require ECU reflashing.

How do we unlock or set the different settings? I have your LAP3 piggyback but it was sent with one setting if I’m not mistaken?

Great news...I think that having the option of multiple maps will be beneficial on this platform, as the mayority of the owners use their Stinger as daily drivers and driving around all the time in "race" mode wil not be efficient or comfortable.

I have one of the other piggybacks that offers user adjustable settings and it is nice! I Have the LAP3 also without adjustable settings. Would love to compare settings. Hoping to get a response to my above mentioned comment.

Will the new ECU be unlocked for easy reflashes and can the speed limiter be edited/removed?

If you open up the chip, you can adjust the boost setting to your liking.

Of course. Other various limiters will be unlocked/adjusted to provide superior drivability.
What is the theoretical power ceiling without supporting mods? EX: bigger/better FMIC, Water-Methonal injection, free flow exhaust. We don't know the mechanical power ceiling yet, so forged pistons and other parts may be necessary later.
