Why are lease deals so bad

fir instance, infinity q50 is offering 2k down, 350 a month, with MSRP on 6cyl roughly the same. Meanwhile, with Kia I’m hearing 4K down, 450. I’m not sure the disconnect when the value of leasing and owning, (excluding the difference of the amount of the down payment), results I. A similar down payment. Thoughts?

What equipment and teirs are you comparing ?

I drive a q50 looking at a stinger

The issue is kias ideal money factor is 0.00210 which is over 5% interest

Infiniti is 0.0003 I think which is below 1%

Also Infiniti routinely goes well under 90% of msrp

But yea agreed stinger deals need to get better best I’ve been offered is 565 a month 1065 at signing 36 months 12k miles a year on a gt2 awd (not even sure if that’s just a get you in the door price) but yea needs to be under 500 to truly be a solid lease

Care to post that lease offer. I'd be interested to see the numbers as I feel they are a bit unrealistic. You'd have to be getting a smokin deal on the purchase price to get the payment that low OR be putting down more cash upfront.

Like I said I was offered that ... never trust a deal till I’ve signed it and driven off with the car

Unless I'm missing some fees and the 7000 in lease cash isnt still on the GT2 ... my math says its I'm fine

47200 sale price
-7000 in lease cash
-500 additional down
roll fees and taxes into the monthly
0.00210 money factor
52% residual

first month + 500 at signing
565 a month

no other dealer been under 579 tho ... (mind u this is all email yet to go in and seriously negotiate)

even putting it into lease hacker gives me 572 / month ... with tax

I was just quoted $654 monthly for GT2 36/12 and $1000 up front. Or $684 for 36/15

Over the course of the lease, you should try to buy out before the end of the 36 months or else they make back much of the $7000. Quite a few of us here have bought out the lease immediately to claim most of the savings either through refinancing as a loan (purchase) or purchasing it with no financing (cash).

Over the course of the lease, you should try to buy out before the end of the 36 months or else they make back much of the $7000. Quite a few of us here have bought out the lease immediately to claim most of the savings either through refinancing as a loan (purchase) or purchasing it with no financing (cash).

Problem is I’m not sure I want to own the Stinger. I like a new car every 3 years and for my business it’s just easier to lease.
Would just like a great lease deal but not sure it’s gonna happen until the dealers start discounting a bit more.

It all depends on what you owed on the Genesis compared to its market value.

I've said this before but unless people put actual numbers from their lease breakdown, there's just no way to OBJECTIVELY say if it was a good deal.

Otherwise if you're happy with your payment then consider it a good deal. Don't matter what we say.
