I purchased a certified pre-owned 2022 G70 a couple of months ago. Still not sure I like the car better than the 2019 Golf R I traded in. Long story, short. Live in Reno, drove to Portland for the car. Coil failed two hours away from Portland drove back and spent the night for repairs. Told it was a bad spark plug. Drove back to Reno, failed again two days later. Several emails and calls with Genesis corporate. Genesis of Rocklin two hours away sent a loaner car and replace the coil. So, bad start maybe tainted my first impressions. Now it seems like the right front strut is going bad, will address this next month. I knew not having a local dealer could be an issue and now maybe regretting the purchase. Hoping for a better experience in the future.

Just wanted to say hi, Mike.

Hi. Yes, a bad coil pack will kill any plug you put in. Two days is a pretty quick kill though. My new plug lasted two weeks then cracked. We checked the coils and found no. six bad and replaced. Smooth running for over 35K miles since then. Hopefully your purchase will satisfy really soon.

Hi, Mike. Welcome to the community. I’m sure you’ll be happy with the car once you get the issue fixed.

Hey Mike,

Welcome to the pack!

Sounds like things are off to a rough start for sure.

Hopefully everything gets worked out so you can start enjoying the car more.

If you end up modding the car down the line, you can always reach out to us for Genesis parts even if they are not currently on our website.

Best of luck!
