I thought I was doomed with those gloss black sunroof trim panels being faded and full of scratches. I really thought I was gonna have to buy new ones. But instead, I just used some Maguires PlastX polish. They’re shining again. Took a whole 10 mins. Polished both sides 3xs and then followed up with a coat of wax.

Super good! Your the second person on here to suffer the loss of gloss on those flanking trim pieces. Not sure what is causing that rare degradation. I have PlastX and have applied it on some interior scuffs with limited results. It seems like it was made for this very sort of application that you have used. Good to know.

I started noticing it right after I broke 100k miles. Go figure! Lmao!

Interesting, I might have to check this out. Mine look pretty terrible. Sadly I have no garage.

I will be trying this after work - mine are faded like your before pictures. I tried some Cleaner Wax on it, which helped a little (and helped a LOT on the dark chrome trim), but I have a bottle of PlasicX as well.

I can't believe all these faults with trim and so forth I don't park my car in the sun if i can help it, but I sure drive it when it's sunny (SUNROOF LIFE) lol and over 2yr's now no issues at all?

Other than the drip rails turning into "snakeskin", and the dark chrome above the doors and alongside the hatch window showing some spotting - which is effectively eradicated with Flitz polish or something similar, and making sure to rub them dry very vigorously when washing - my 2018 GT1 has shown no weathering. I park my cars in the shade also.

I didn’t have a problem with them until recently. They went a good 125k staying shiny. Just had to polish them back to their original glory.
