3.3TT ECS Problem ,Chassis in emergency mode , no one can fix

Hi, everybody. I need help. About 2 months ago, the ECS warning light came on on a straight road at 50 km speed. Because I thought that after restarting the car, the problem would correct itself, I didn't know what was going on. The electronic chassis has set itself to emergency mode and the ride is very uncomfortable . I took the car to a KIA repair shop and the fault code (C221213) showed low voltage on the left front shock absorber.

They replaced the old cables but found that the original ones were fine.

So by further diagnostics they found that the left front shock absorber was not working. (112 000 km mileage)

The shock absorber could not be bought. So I sent it to a repair specialist, who found that the shock absorber was fine, but the chassis was still not working. In the service they made the adjustment of the shock absorber and everything worked , after a test drive and after 2 kilometers the warning on the ECS did not work again.

I don't think any ECS issues have been posted on this forum, so whatever is happening is certainly rare. You're at the mercy of the dealership. Fixing this kind of stuff on your own is very difficult.

I know that. The best part is that it happened 3 weeks after the warranty expired .When I linked the car to Kia Conect out of curiosity , where it offered to install some data files , which I did. And the next day the problem happened to me .Very strange coincidence .

The shock absorber could not be bought.

What does this mean? ECS shocks should be bog standard available forever.

Not the one on my car, it has a code that even the kia shop doesn't know the code !!!I don't know what else is on it ! Delivery time (maybe) 6 weeks

Your not the original owner I take it. Somebody changed out the shock then to an aftermarket part. KIA would know their own OEM parts.

This shock absorber is original. Of course, they found this shock absorber in the database at the Kia repair shop, but the delivery time is six weeks... and, of course, they have not yet determined whether the shock absorber is defective. That is why they do not want to order it yet, because then it cannot be sent back. Here in Germany, it costs €1,700, so it would remain at the repair shop.

ONE ECS shock is $1,998.95??!! WTH?! Kia Parts Now has the OEM part knocked down from $854 MSRP to $581. The price difference between Germany and USA can't be that big.

You said you installed some data files and the next day this started happening.

As the ECS is all data linked and the suspension setting I would suggest going back to basics.

Go back to the original Kia Online Download software for your vehicle.

It will be on the proper Kia website, Check the version you have through the car menu then download the correct one onto a Laptop/PC and re install it into the car.

You don't say what version your car is so it could be via USB or what the earlier Stingers have which might be an SD card.

Run it through your car and see if it fixes it. That's the free fix if it works.

Yes, the difference in prices compared to Europe is so big, because if in the USA they told someone such a price, it would probably be the last thing the salesman would say
That's why car companies here in Europe don't have official websites with prices of spare parts as in the USA. Last time I paid 800€ for a set of gaskets and two oil pipes for Turbos !!! In the US they would cost 220$..Yeah thanks for the tip,how to maybe fix it by reverting the software to the original settings.

The price for struts is indeed expensive. Below is the price for front and rear struts for MY23 Stinger GT 3.3TT in Aust.

Front Right $ 2068.59

This is most likely because of the Dynamic Stability Damping Control which limits the travel of the piston under selected conditions, Sport, Comfort, etc.
