Here’s what she sounds like:

I know everyone usually says HPFP, but I don’t think there’s any way that’s the case with mine, this is after being driven and I can hear it slightly while driving. Just wanted to hear yalls thoughts, she is unfortunately not under warranty. Should I get the valve clearance checked? Thanks in advance.
 
You can use a big screwdriver or rod as a stethoscope. Push it against the HPFP (there's a thick foam rubber cover so make sure it's against the actual housing), put your ear to the other end, and it should be apparent whether that's where it's coming from.

In terms of distinguishing the sound from lifter tick or other valve noise, that's going to be difficult because the HPFP is basically just an extra cam lobe + valve lifter. To me it sounds exactly like the lifter tick my old car had.

That isnt the normal HPFP sound. The HPFP sound almost totally goes away when you blip the throttle but yours doesnt.
 
Mine, with almost 150k miles does the same. I am wondering if it’s time for valves adjustment?

The pump works by having an additional camshaft lobe spin around and drive a spring-loaded piston, so it's like an extra valve sticking up out of the head, and is tied to RPM (technically, twice RPM). From listening on my phone it doesn't sound markedly different from HPFP noise, but if you think it's sticky lifters or other valvetrain noise, you could try an engine flush.

They're basically light weight oils with some detergents, which you idle around your engine for 10-15 minutes to dissolve or loosen gunk that can make lifters stick or oil starved. Then you just do a normal oil change.
