Plug and play Dashcam

I’m trying to order for my 2021 LHD GT-Line but they’re pushing back saying it won’t fit.

My cover is Part number 96011-J5020 but they insist it can only be 96010-J5010. I looked up both parts online, and they seem to be near identical replacements for each other. I noticed the description includes LKAS on my part, which is funny because that feature was not offered with this model and year.

Can anyone help to confirm what I suspect is the same cover?

Installed the -22+ fitcamx this evening while here at work; no hiccups at all. Paired it with a 256gb Samsung micro SD card.

Great quality and the image is super sharp and crisp

Very pleased with this integrated dashcam solution
How did you get the thing back in place? I can’t seem to get the cables under the cover and still get it to fit into place? Seems like the pigtail connector would fit down the lady side but I can’t seem to get it there and have it stay there while I try to snap it in place. Any suggestions? I must have done it for the text fit one, but now I can’t get it to sit right.

I just received mine and tried to install it without any luck. I don’t think the clip on the right side is measured correctly as it kept bending it back no matter how gentle I tried to install it. Compared to the OEM cover, you can see the right side clip is not exactly in the same place. When I reinstalled the OEM cover it popped right back in without any issues. Contacting support to see what the issue is.

even with stock, you kinda have to pull the sides out a little bit to get it to go back in place correctly. I had to replace my trim piece becuase I broke one of those tabs trying to push it back into place. I haven't bought this cam yet, but it's on my list.

It took me a few try’s to get in in place. Also keep in mind that the connectors need to be in fairly specific spots to actually get into place. So check that too.

So, I got mine in yesterday--parking setup and read camera. Photos to follow.

In a nutshell, the hardest part was threading the rear camera wire through the hatch/body interface, especially with the near-liquid butyl rubber creating the seal.

(In an aside, anyone know how to remove that gunk from the cloth fascia on the interior? Asking for a friend o_O)

Continuing on with the install,
<--that video helped a ton in being able to hide the wires going from the back to the front--basically you remove the rubber weatherstripping from the doors, put the wire into the void, and place it back in, then just tuck the wire across any of the pillars. There should be enough room up to to hide any excess wire in the headliner--undoing the upper console/sunglass holder gives you some space to work with.

It's a little more complicated with the wiring, but the parking cable supplies it a lot less thick/bulku than the Y-cables if you just want normal operation. You'd just remove the A-pillar cover on the driver's side, slide the wire down (I threaded/tucked it behind the airbag), and then through the weatherstripping and into the fuse box.

Update, they actually sent me the incorrect dash cam cover. I had the option to have a new cover sent and swap the camera to the new cover or return the whole thing and have them send a whole new unit. I opted to return it and they are now sending me the correct one. Will update after I receive the replacement in a couple weeks

^ glad to hear that. Mine snapped on no problem

Can someone tell me if its possible to save the clips during driving? Is there a button for saving clips?

Saves automatically. Put in a 256 Gb card for maximum files before being overwritten

There is also a button that you can press and save a 3 min clip in a separate folder that does not get overwritten when the SD card space is full.

Because they kept telling me my cover wouldn't fit, I ended up getting a small USB-powered Garmin dash cam, a short micro USB cable, and a power adapter. This combination works awesomely; all the cords are under the rearview mirror cover, and the camera is positioned out of sight behind the rearview mirror.

If it's the camera button I'll have to look into this. I tried hitting it a few times on a road trip but I couldn't find anything saved separate or otherwise. I'll have to play around with it.

I can say that with a 512 GB microSD (even if it reads only 256), I got all of the video from a 10 hour roadtrip from both cameras with room to spare.

Anyone with short/long term use?

I believe that is what the button on it is for. I haven’t tried it.

How easy is it to break the original cover when taking it off?

I didn’t have any problem. I still have mine fully in tact if I ever want to swap it back out.

I just ordered mine after confirming. It wasn't too difficult to take it off. Maybe if you do it a handful of times you could break a tab.

It's very easy to remove. Just use a trim remover to prevent scratches.
So I bought one and it came within 24 hours which was pretty shocking. I did talk with their customer service and I will say it was absolutely excellent. However I spent about an hour and a half yesterday trying to get it fitted and there was always a gap on one side or the other. I'm not sure if it was because of the y splitter being in the way but there seemed to have been more than enough room. After that time had passed eventually I broke one of the clips on the new cover. I was really frustrated because it's seems to be rather simple and there's just four clips total. I did reach out to them and they said they're sending me a new cover. I had already applied the CPL to the first one so hopefully I can just pop it off.

Basically it just seemed like the fit was just ever so not perfect. I could have left it and it would have worked but it would have drove me crazy with like a one centimeter gap on either the driver or passenger side.

Any suggestions?
