Hey all,

Bought a 22 GT Line AWD in ceramic silver back in October 24 and really loving the car so far. Just took it for its 40k service and was told I need new tires. I was preparing the buy some aftermarket wheels soon anyway so figure I'll just go all out and get both but I'd appreciate some help figuring out what sizes and offsets would achieve the look I'm going for.

My main goal is to have the fitment look as flush as possible and lowering the car on springs is on the horizon in the near future. I've been trying to do my research and understand the science that is wheels and tires but I'm nervous to pull the trigger so any tips would be helpful.

I've currently got Niche Gammas in the cart at 19x8.5 35 in the front and 19x9.5 35 in the rear with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 4 at 225/40 in front and 255/35 in the rear. Do we think this setup would achieve the desired look? What would you change?

Appreciate the feedback in advance! Let me know if you need any more info from me to make an informed recommendation.

That is only a few millimeters of offset further out than what I run on TSW wheels. Same rim widths I run. My offsets are 40 in front 39 in back. Same tire sizes as you are proposing. I've always been pleased with the look and a couple millimeters further out would be negligible I think.

The two reference points I like to start with are the stock setup, and the stock setup with 20mm spacers, since that's a common modification and it's easy to find pictures/video. I think the stock setup is about as tucked as you want to be, and the 20mm spacers are about as flush as you want to be.

For your setup, in the front, you're adding half an inch in width, so 1/4" or 6.25mm inside and out, then the +35 offset pushes you 1mm inward vs stock +34. So your outer edge is about 5mm or 1/5" closer to flush than stock. You could probably go a half inch or 12-13mm further outward (so maybe reducing offset to 19x8.5 +25 or +20, or adding a 10-15mm spacer). This is consistent with the 19x8.5 +25 setup I've seen recommended.

In the rear, you're adding an inch in width, so 1/2" or 12.5mm inside and out, then the +35 offset pushes you almost 1/2" further outward (11.5mm). So your outer edge is 24mm or just under 1" further out than stock. That's just beyond what a 20mm spacer does, which is probably fine, but I might consider going 5-10mm more conservative, ie 19x9.5 +40 or +45. This is consistent with @Snicklefritz running +39.

As always, wheel gurus please feel free to critique my math.

Awesome, thanks for the info. Looks really good!

Appreciate the detail here! I'll have to go back to the drawing board as the Gammas went on backorder, but probably for the best as I want to take into account the info you provided.

So this is a great example, where on paper I'd guess the rears might be getting a bit far out, but it looks great. Obviously he has 20s and is lowered, but just looking at widths and offsets, I figure his fronts are where the stocks would be with a 15mm spacer which is perfect, while the rears are more like adding a 27mm spacer.

@socalvn do you have any pictures directly from behind? I bet the amount of tire under the car looks impressive. And do you know how much clearance you have on the inside vs. suspension?

Front: 9" wheel is 1" above stock, so 1/2" more inside and out, then +32 offset pushes them 2mm further out, for 14.5mm total (and we know a 20mm spacer works).
Rear: 10.5" wheel is 2" above stock, so 1" more inside and out, then +45 offset pushes them 1.5mm further out, for 26.9mm total.

The front rim is really close to the strut but no issue the back has a huge amount of suspension room but is close to the fender well

Ok that's great info. By my math the inside of your front wheel is about 10.5mm / 0.4" inboard of the stock location, and the rear is about 24mm or just under an inch, so that's a pretty good amount of excess clearance.

Appreciate the help here from everyone. I've decided on some Braelin BR10 Gloss Black 19x8.5 +35 and 19x9.5 +40 and I'm going to go with 225/40 and 255/35 conti DWS06 Plus on them. I'll see how I feel once I get them on the car and will decide if some spacers are needed, but I like the look and they are a fair bit lighter than the Niche gammas so that's a plus. I'll throw some pictures up when it's all said and done. Thanks!

Got the wheels and tires on this afternoon and I'm very pleased with the fitment, even without being lowered yet I think it looks great. Can't wait to get some springs on it in the coming months. Appreciate those who offered up insight, it definitely helped me make a decision.IMG_3530.webpIMG_3531.webpIMG_3533.webpIMG_3534.webp

I'm sorry to but in. I like it. Did you have to use any spacers ?
