Water/Fluid Sloshing Noise

I took mine for the recall and it happened again. The sloshing noise. I took it right back that following Monday and told them they need to burp it. They did and it's all good so far.
I haven't overheated at any point thank God. But once they get the air out it should be fine.

But I will say the smell of antifreeze from day one is alarming and they just keep saying we don't smell anything. And of course it's only a problem in the nicer weather when I have my windows down. I'm over it!!!

Yours was fixed after they burped it? I've taken mine to a dealership twice and all they've done is bled the system and refilled the coolant. Doesn't last long until my heat stops working again.

Unfortunately I had to bring mine over and over to have it burped, does fix it for a while.... Until the next go round. I feel like they(service) just don't understand it themselves

Make sure your antifreeze is completely full at all times

I have not logged in for forever, but was planning to post 'Sloshing sound anyone?' and immediately saw this post. I just had the front skid plate replaced and a recall on my 2019 GT1, and the sloshing sound started. They said they flushed the radiator, but still happening. So does it seem that it just needs to be burped, or did anyone else run into a different fix?

They have to burp it, sometimes over and over it sucks but it works eventually

Doesn't vacuum filing work with this engine?

I can't see a single good reason why vacuum filling would not be used.

I know the official Kia service manual has an air bleed procedure. But I am of the same opinion as you, why not simply do a vacuum filling, and of story.

Took my 2019 GT2 for the recall in mid-June. Since then my car has overheated twice, after which my dealership bled the coolant and refilled it. Thought all was good, but now I noticed this sloshing sound behind the dash every time I begin to accertate after the ISG function (idle stop and go) turns the engine back on.
Sucks, as I was just about to drive to the beach this morning. This is crazy, when a recall trades one problem for another!

At least this one was caused by them. It just has to be undone and done right. Depending on how much hassle getting the cooling system put to rights is at the dealer, maybe you should fix what they broke somewhere else?

every time I begin to accertate
lol, your chosen handle is evidently appropriate.

Never fails, lol.
So I took it in again, and they did in fact vacuum fill it this time. They mentioned they'd called around to other service centers to see how they were handling this issue, as it hasn't exactly been uncommon to see directly following this recall.
Hopefully the ride to the beach and back goes alright!

The way over went fine. If it can hold up this Saturday on the way back, I'll be feeling pretty good!

Good luck, you should be fine. But ya never know with these cars

You make it sound like it's an issue with the car!
There's a lot of stinger's with this issue and the dealerships always act as if they have no clue as to what the issue is. I've personally dealt with this early on when I first bought mine in 2019. When I had the recall done recently it was like WOW here we go all over again, then had to take it back a couple of time's because they lose their hearing and don't know what you're talking about. Same as the coolent smell, which has been from day one of owning the car. Still love mine and will probably keep it until the wheels fall off. So many people with the same issues, you would think they know about it, guessing it's cheaper for them to keep playing dumb instead of a recall for whatever is causing it. But what do I know

Yeah, the exceptionally poor service does leave a bad taste in everyone's mouth.

I really wish Kia had better service centers for warranty work, and recalls.

Totally agree, that's with every vehicle brand. If all of them stood behind their products 100% that would be great. You spend your hard earned money only to get the run around when something goes array, it's upsetting to say the least.

Had the same sound after the recall was done. Checked my Coolant reservoir and it was empty. Took it back to the dealership and they topped up the Coolant.

Tech said the sloshing sounds are likely air in the coolant system, and that its hard to fill up the system properly.

KIA needs to get their techs trained to properly fill the coolant system after the recall.
