So I'm about to rotate the tires on my GT2, and was wondering if the car needs some kind of reset to know that the sensors from the former right side tires are now on the left etc.

From a quick search it looks like some cars need a TPMS tool, while others "learn" automatically. Anyone know what the Stinger needs?

The Stinger needs nothing. I establishes communication without any "reset", with OEM or aftermarket TPMS, it doesn't care.

Nope. Don't need to do anything

Drive for 10 minutes above 25 kmh and the TPMS will re-calibrate the replaced tyre/tyres.

A TPMS is not located on the space saver spare.

If you drive the vehicle for about 10 min-
utes at speeds above 25 km/h after
replacing the low pressure tyre with the
spare tyre, one of the following will hap-
pen.
The TPMS malfunction indicator may
blink for approximately 1 minute and
then remain continuously illuminated
because the TPMS sensor is not
mounted on the spare wheel.
(changed tyre equipped with a sensor
not in the vehicle)
僅 The TPMS malfunction indicator will
remain continuously illuminated
whilst driving because the TPMS sen-
sor is not mounted on the spare
wheel.

Thanks guys. So how does it know to reassign the TPMS signals to different tire locations? Is it picking up signals at each wheel? Or do the TPMS sensors send some other info like wheel speed that the car can compare?

the antenna at each corner only picks up the wheel closest to it. it'll figure it out in a few miles of movement above 15-20 mph.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Good to know, thank you! I was about to pump one side up to see if the car had flipped them.
