I'm having some major traction issues. I'm running Map 2 with basically all the bolt on's available. 275 proxes aired to 30. Tried a 0-60 pull after high flow cats install and 1st gear was hitting 18psi at 4k rpm and spun. Dropped that a bit with jb4 tried again. When she shifted into 3rd she started fish tailing. Scared the crap out of me. I have wmi installed and haven't even activated that yet.

So I'm at the point where I'm ready to trade her in for a awd either gt1 or gt2. Before I do that, is it even possible to ever be able to hold all this power to the ground with my rwd? Will 305 tires help much more than my 275's?

2022 gt1 awd
Jb4 w/ ewg currently map2
Hks plugs
Wagner fmic
High flow cats Secondly delete
Aem intake
Full megan racing arms rear alignment is at -1.6 camber
Coilovers

How many miles on your tires? check the tread.

I have rwd and I'm running michelin PS4S tires, 275's in the rear, and I can manage it for the most part. Also JB4, with WMI, running map 7. when the tires are cold, the car can lose traction in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears. I just have to modulate the throttle accordingly. The tires are fantastic but running around on the street it's very hard to get them up to temp, unless temps are above 70-80 and you've been driving around for a while. RWD will never be able to launch with all that power. You have to reduce boost by gear, keep trying different amounts until you can at least handle it. RWD is great on the track though. Map 2 and beyond is just too much power to be able to hammer it from a stop.

I wouldn't try even larger tires. You're just reducing your contact patch from front to back or longitudinally, which is what you need for acceleration and braking performance. Lateral handling might be improved with wider tires though. Or just put the engine in the trunk! LOL.

can you elaborate on this a bit more please.

Basically wider tires don't help with acceleration, they help with lateral stability (cornering). When you get wider tires your contact patch gets wider, not longer. It MAY increase your acceleration a very little bit but probably not enough to make any real improvement. If anything you'll be adding extra rotating weight due to the wider tires. You'll be better off learning to control your launch rather than trying to change your tires to improve straight line acceleration.

Ok, after a few hours of jumping forums and asking around here is my next steps. Lower psi to 32. Soften rear shocks have them full stiff because I rub with the kids in the back. And adjust jb4 boost by gear. 6-3-0 is my good starting point from Terry.

Boom, there you go. There's probably a sweet spot as far as width of wheels and tires, but so many options, who's got the time to test them all. At the end of the day, just enjoy the fact that you have a fast ride from 30-130 mph!

You should look into the BMS diff brace. Might help get the power down. Even with drag radials RWD will spin. I spin until 3rd. That's why I don't do much digs, only rolls. RWD life. Also you have an LSD right? Open diff RWD is a mistake.

The cold PSI for racing for my 20x305s on my camaro is 28. That’s for a car that’s going to corner. I need more for auto X up front due to not as much heat generated, but for launching, sounds like your psi is way too high in the rear. As long as I’m not rolling the bead in turns I’m running too much pressure.

Did another round today. 32 psi, shocks set to half. And she just feels so weird. I quess away to explain it she feels like she is floating/lifting. After alittle thinking I started thinking it's my suspension for sure. Will I may have forgotten to mention I have Aftermarket stiffer swaybars. Going to remove it and try again.

Sways should help with traction. If they are installed properly that is

Sway bars will help in turns keeping the weight more centered, but it wont do anything in a straight line.

Posjr408, did you ever figure it out?

Shortly after this post I got state ref'ed. Figured it was a good time to upgrade to a 2023 gt2 awd. Huge improvement. I now push 512hp 695tq on an awd dyno. Lap3 2.0 e30 100% meth FBO.
