Sway Bar (Which one?)

I got the ARKs because I have ARK GT-F springs, and the handling is great. I had the springs on first for a few months, then the rear bar, and a week later I put on the front. The rear was a little noticeable around town but nothing major. the front bar transformed the handling and the attitude of the steering. Much more responsive. However, the impact harshness increase is also considerable with the front bar, even on soft (it is a 27mm front and 20mm rear.) I suspect the poly sway bar bushings. I've ordered some rubber replacements, will try that and report back.
Hey Snowwhite. Where did you order the rubber bushing replacements for use with your front ARK sway bar?

They didn't fit. the 27mm was fine, but the rest of it was too small to fit in the bracket.

Mine did get a lot softer once I lubricated the bushings and re-taped with the yellow gas line teflon tape. I am not going to continue pursuing the rubber bushing option.

Thanks Snowwhite. I also used the yellow gas line teflon tape along with lube when I did my installation. Hopefully I don't have any issues.

I got lucky with my old Pontiac G8 with the larger Pedders sway bars. It just so happened that the Chevy SS had the same size front bar as the Pedders upgrade so I could use the rubber bushing and saddles for the Chevy SS. Gotta love a vast OEM parts bin.

I have Whiteline front and rear and theyre great. Car is so much more flat and stable when aggressively cornering. Feels like I have endless grip
Did you install the sway bars yourself? My rear sway bar just arrived and I noticed the mounting brackets are slotted. Did you lock down the mounting brackets in the middle of the slot or was the brackets slid more to the front or rear of the car? Thanks

I did install them myself. But I honestly couldn’t tell you. You can’t see the rear sway bar’s bracket holes. They’re pretty deep behind the wheel well. The front uses the stock brackets. But yeah, I couldn’t tell you haha. I doubt it matters much.

When you're talking about a 100 dollar difference between the two and you're getting a zerk fitting on all the brackets versus buying the fitting separately and drilling the holes and needing a tap and die set yes it's a selling point.

I have the eibachs and they're amazing, cant recommend them enough.
Was considering these on my 2023 GT2. Do they add a lot of harshness to the ride ? I read this on the thread. I was going to do both but I do not want to be bouncing around with the horrible roads we have in San Diego.

Personally I don't think it added much harshness to the ride at all and for the amount it controls the body roll, totally worth it. Most (not all) of the rear end hop while taking turns as well as feeling much more predictable on exit ramps. I couldn't recommend them more.

Speaking of sway bars, can anyone explain why the end links on the front are so long? I would think shorter end links mean more torsion rigidity. With these nearly a foot long there has to be some serious flex?

Talking about the eibach ones right ?

I have Ark performance sway bars, but honestly I have a feeling any aftermarket sway bar will make a noticeable improvement.

The rear bar is barely noticeable when it comes to harshness but the front adds some, nothing that's going to rattle out your fillings out or anything, still well worth thr tradeoff in improved handling.

Yeah I'm experiencing this too with springs and the sway bars could you share a link for the bushings please Thank you Edit

I would say no change in harshness, highly recommended. Car tracks flatter more precise and as mentioned the rear end mid corner hop is almost totally gone

Since the end links have ball joints at both ends, they can only see direct tension and direct compression. No torsion or flex possible.

They are free to spin at each end.

This link doesn't really describe exactly what I'm trying to say, but you can see the only force on an end link is straight compression, or straight tension.

I found the WhiteLine sway bar kit with adj. end links, cheaper than $100, more like $300 cheaper compared to the Eibach setup- the entire kit was $433 shipped. If it was only $100, I prolly would have went with the Eibach set up. I don't feel the difference is worth $300 more, sways bars are pretty simple devices and the differences are pretty negligible IMHO. The ride does feel a bit harsher, but I have the front on HARD, I'm gonna change that.

I have the white line set. Sway bars and endlinks. Pretty happy with the performance.

Do you have a link where you purchased them? Thx!

Do you need endlinks or can you use stock ones?

You can use the stock ones. I've been on stock endlinks with front and rear ark sways. No issues here. Lots of people seem to switch to aftermarket end links when they lower but from what I've read it's not necessary.
