Turbo Oil Feed Tube Fail

Sounds like a rough situation, just got a 21 G70 w/ the 3.3T so will probably be in the same boat as I'm fairly certain they would share this exact part :(
If indeed they have to drop the motor that can open up a whole new can of worms w/ shops that are already overburdened and understaffed :(
Hopefully this failure is very rare, but w/ an open recall that may not be the case :(

Yup i noticed when my wife pointed out white smoke on the left side ( Driver side ) when she took my stinger to work long story short i took it to the dealership where they told my it was the turbo feed line and some gaskets charged me 5k, 2k in just labor ( 12 hour job ) cause they have to remove the motor to get to the line and the gaskets told me itll be atleast 3 weeks till i get it back
Hopefully you can get reimbursed for that charge since it's now a recall. And damn, a 12 hr job, great :(

That’s not true, it’s a part more likely to leak than the other lines, hoses, etc. Every 3.3 g70 and stinger won’t leak though, plenty of people over 100k miles no issues. Personally at 60k and 5 yrs old never had a single leak anywhere, I do my own maintenance so I would know.

Theres a giant recall on it it’s manufacturing error cause the line sits idk if right under or over the heat plate so maybe not for sure but there is a big chance it will i went to the dealership to fix this issue and there was another stinger there for the same reason

It’s not the end of the world, having a Kia dealer drop your engine over a potential leaky hose is comical to me. They’ll fudge it up worse than it was if left untouched.

Hopefully they find a fix that doesn’t require that though..

Item #4 (LH side problem part) vs item #15 (RH side - non problematic)

my turbo hose went out at 120,000 miles, was smoking up through the hood on the driver side. My neighbor and friend is a local mechanic, it was the turbo hose. I had it shipped from Kia, he could do the repair without taking out the engine. Friends and family discount, out the door at 2279$

This recall thread has been eye opening and not good news. I have been a little apprehensive for my Kia dealer to change my oil once per year but an engine removal is a whole different ball game.

Kia teenager boys dropping an engine and maybe scratch your paint too.

If you're modded with exhaust or down pipes, does it still cover the TSB

It's a safety recall, not a TSB. Federal law (in the US at least) requires them to repair it regardless of mods, unless possibly you have replaced the part already with an aftermarket part. I believe there are VERY FEW reasons they can deny it (one being what was mentioned already), I think the other would be the vehicle being under a salvage title.

If the dealership refuses to repair it, you can file a complaint with NHTSA.

Curious what the new feed pipe looks like, or do they replace it w/ the same part but add more heat prevention???
