My current setup, Ark Mids and Magnaflow catback exhaust (#19406). On a scale of 1-10, if the stock Kia Stinger GT exhaust is a 1 for a loudness/sound level, I'd consider my current setup a 3. I'd love it to be a 4-4.5. I reached out to Magnaflow to see if they had any direct muffler swaps for this system that might add a little noise and grunt to my setup, but they don't. They suggested possibly removing the resonators that are on the x pipe and replacing them with just a straight pipe. While that would increase the sound level and gain more of an aggressive tone, it may get raspy which I'm not looking for.

Any opinions on a muffler swap or other solution for me? Thx.

you can get a catted downpipe but that will trigger the check engine light

the next best option is to get another exhaust

thx for the reply. do you know of the exhaust systems that are out there for kia stingers which one would be the "next loudest" up from the magnaflow system? i know the magnaflow system is pretty tame in comparison to some.

If your goal is the loudest exhaust, get a muffler delete

I'm confused by the 1st line of this response.

The OP stated that Magnaflow suggested he remove the X-pipe that has the resonators on them.

Doing that would not cause a CEL, nor would installing a catted downpipe. Catted downpipes do not cause check engine lights.

To the OP @twelvexes to create the additional sound you want, & a massive bump in performance, I would recommend going with the Ultimate Performance HFC Downpipe + Mid Pipe Combo Kit

This setup was put on a dyno for a 2018 Stinger 3.3T that was otherwise completely stock & it made 46hp & 62ft lbs of torque.

You're confused? Well I'm confused about what you posted here:

So please tell us how this 'otherwise completely stock' car put out more horsepower at the wheels - 380 - than what the car is factory rated for at the crank - 368?

It is an impossibility - are you saying this dyno is for real? And you are knowingly using this as an example to sell an exhaust? That doesn't make you and your store look good...

The antagonistic response is not necessary or needed. Let’s break this down so that there is no confusion.

1) I’m not trying to sell an exhaust.

2) This is a valid dyno performed by the manufacturer of the product, Ultimate Performance. Signed by the owner of the company that performed it on the dyno.

3) I’m sorry I’m not here to “tell you how” anything. Ultimate Performance informed all of their dealers that the Stinger on the dyno was stock other than the Primary Downpipe & Midpipe kit they installed.

4) We will always use the info provided to us by the manufacturer of a reputable product that we are selling, to assist us with selling the item on our site. Including but not limited to dyno sheets, photos or other data used to promote a product for sale.

5) I wish I could say it was “my store” but it’s not, I just work here.

Thanks for your response, I’m not here to argue, debate, or prove anything. However, this is a proven and tested product that has been part of this Stinger community for over 5 years now.

My comment was directed to the person I quoted and the OP. If you have issues with the dyno sheet provided by Ultimate Performance, feel free to reach out to them to debate the authenticity of the document provided.

I installed the mbrp active exhaust that works with our stock electric valve motor with ark down pipes. I'd have to say it is a good deep tone.

Yes, let's break it down.

1) I’m not trying to sell an exhaust.

Yet you are making a suggestion here:

To the OP @twelvexes to create the additional sound you want, & a massive bump in performance, I would recommend going with the Ultimate Performance HFC Downpipe + Mid Pipe Combo Kit

Directly above you stated it returns "a massive bump in performance", and then posted these numbers:

This setup was put on a dyno for a 2018 Stinger 3.3T that was otherwise completely stock & it made 46hp & 62ft lbs of torque.

Next, you provide a dyno chart 'proving' your claims of a 'massive bump', and then you state this:

2) This is a valid dyno performed by the manufacturer of the product, Ultimate Performance. Signed by the owner of the company that performed it on the dyno.

How can it POSSIBLY be a 'valid dyno' when the power at the wheels, 380 whp, is greater than the stated factory horsepower AT THE CRANK, 368 chp? Ask yourself, how can that possibly be?

3) I’m sorry I’m not here to “tell you how” anything. Ultimate Performance informed all of their dealers that the Stinger on the dyno was stock other than the Primary Downpipe & Midpipe kit they installed.

Based upon the evidence above, clearly they are lying - not a first in this industry, unfortunately. Any yet here you are, seemingly turning a blind-eye to it.

4) We will always use the info provided to us by the manufacturer of a reputable product that we are selling, to assist us with selling the item on our site. Including but not limited to dyno sheets, photos or other data used to promote a product for sale.

Apparently, it is NOT a reputable product based upon their own falsified dyno chart.

5) I wish I could say it was “my store” but it’s not, I just work here.

It IS 'your store' since you're representing it here.

Thanks for your response, I’m not here to argue, debate, or prove anything. However, this is a proven and tested product that has been part of this Stinger community for over 5 years now.

The shop distributing false dyno charts clearly shows it is not 'proven', actually, they 'disproved' it themselves.

If you have issues with the dyno sheet provided by Ultimate Performance, feel free to reach out to them to debate the authenticity of the document provided.

YOU are the one who posted their falsified dyno sheet on this site, not them - you are responsible.

Please answer this question:

How can it POSSIBLY be a 'valid dyno' when that dyno shows that when stock, it is putting down 380 hp at the wheels, when a stock engine only does 368 hp at the crank?

They are lying, therefore, disreputable, and you are supporting them.

Believe it or not, I am trying to help you here.

Not interested in your trolling, have a great day!

back in the day on my camaro, i had an exhaust cutout that was controlled electronically with a switch from inside the vehicle. with the cutout closed, the car sounded basically stock. but if i opened this cutout, the exhaust would exit ahead of the rear muffler and it sounded like a nascar. that's what i wanted back in the day. :)

is the mbrp "active" exhaust a similar concept? i actually don't mind my setup just driving around normally, but wished it was a bit more aggressive sounding when i got on the pedal hard.

That’s awesome, I actually had a very similar setup on my V8 back in the day as well. I loved it, it sounded great at lower RPMs, but a bit raspy at the higher RPM range.

The MBRP EVC system for the newer model Stinger’s does function similarly to that, it actually connects to your factory setup, allowing the exhaust to read which drive mode you are in, and open or close the valves accordingly, based on being in ECO mode, or sport mode, etc.

However, that setup is specifically designed for the newer 2022-2023 Stinger models, and would not fit onto the older 2018-2021 Stinger models. However, if you’re interested in the idea, and like the concept, we do offer a similar set up from aFe for the 2018-2021 models. (Assuming you have the older 2018-2021 Stinger)

You can check that one out on our website below:

I have really enjoy mine. Putting it in sport mode makes it grgl. Just make sure you get the add on resonators. The drone gets annoying at 3k rpm. I've tried to fix it with a nice set of tips but it's only helped slightly.
